Jockey News

Keep well clear of anything Liam Quinlan rides.

Only had a fiver on The lucky Lobster but if I had a ticket I would have torn it up by halfway or before.

The lad dropped the horse out the back door stone last despite the fact they weren't exactly hanging about.

From where he was only one bad or even a slow jump would have done away with any chance he had.

I have said it 100 times a good jockey can hold up a horse anywhere and you don't hold up in last place in a 15 runner handicap.
giving the leaders 20 lengths.

very poor ride and he'll have to go some to have any sort of future in this game

Gerald Mosse retired from race riding today aged 57.
While not everyone's cup of tea he won the biggest races around the World throughout his career.
Having been at Ascot for his Coronation Stakes win on Gold Splash I was always a fan of his .
Matt C once asked him at a Windsor evening meet why he bothered race-riding at his age, with his tally of victories.
"Divorce is an expensive business " came the reply.
A career training awaits, hope we hear of him on the big stage again.

Hopefully his great strike rate the last few weeks will continue.
Now if we can only get a decent retainer for David Noonan, who has been riding out of his skin lately..

You'll have to become their agent

Bad news, Barry Connell and Michael O'Sullivan have split.
Michael had mounts booked in Cork Sunday rather than school Marine Nationale after racing at Punchestown.
To compound the story, Cork was abandoned.
Sean Flanagan takes the mount now.
Munir/Suede have their replacement for Daryl Jacobs should they deem David Noonan not good enough. ( I was kind of hoping they would give Dave the job !)

I remember being 46….
Well done you. I struggle to remember what I did last week never mind nearly 20 years ago. I still think in my mind I'm in my late forties but every now and then my body reminds me that my pension is just a couple of years away. Young in spirit is how I would describe it.

My left knee definitely thinks it’s about ninety, but the rest of me is doing ok. To be fair, 46 was only 4 years ago, so I’m quite glad I can remember most of it 🤣

I love that he’s ridden out his claim, watching the interview with him after he was saying he will probably give up before he’s 50, but I hope he manages to keep going for as long as he possibly can - he’s pretty good for the sport I reckon.
