    Goodddddddddddddd.....

I agree although I did enjoy the Sussex Stakes. I have taken a break from betting since the 5th June and have been surprised how easy I found resisting getting involved though I am still keeping tabs on events. Going to get back in the saddle on the Tues and Weds of the Ebor meeting.

Sea The Stars - Retirement Announced

Hoping the weather plays it's part now and we get decent ground on the Knavesmire come the Ebor Meeting. I am really looking forward to Seeing Sea The Stars in the flesh.

    Strong Jockeys

    P. Hanagan is a jockey I like on a selection, especially on a stayer.

A jumps thread...just to keep us going

Hard to choose one race in particular but the top 2 mile chases are a fav of mine. Moscow Flyer's time stands out in particular to me.

    Lester Piggott

There is indeed and I believe LP is a decent man and a great jockey, even better than W. Carson!

    Lester Piggott

I am not bothered what he is like as a human being. He was ruthless in and out of the saddle because he was a winner. His greatness is not a matter of opinion it's a matter of fact.

    Yeats (and The Gold Cup)

Ive not seen the race (working) but look forward to catching it tonight. Really pleased, great training performance. Who is going to beat him next year?

    Departures 2009

I was at Ripon last night. Very sad. Commiserations to all connections.

    Yeats (and The Gold Cup)

I am happy to back Yates at 9/4 personally, a great price for a champion like him at this course. I cannot have Geordieland or Patkai in the same parish if Yates is anywhere near his best.

Great photos, thanks very much for sharing them.

    RIP Vincent O'Brien

One of those rare occasions when the word 'Legend' is not misused. I was not around for the height of his success but agree with Cantoris when he talks about Royal Academy winning the mile. The old team pairing up after John Reid was injured in France and the last gasp manner of his win...

    York

Pick something with big feet it's really coming down now. Interesting to see how the track holds up with this rain.

    York

Its been raining heavy all this morning in York and looks set in for the day at the moment.

    The Dante

It was raining here in York when I hit the hay last night. Not loads just steady and woke up a couple of times to find it raining. Light drizzle this am, stopped now. I don't know if they watered last night, they were on about having a look after racing and deciding then. Hope they did not...

    French Guineas

Proportional to place at the same price the fav is to win, with the chance of actually winning thrown in is a better bet than Fantasia to my (admittedly fuzzy today) mind. I am also taking a (big) chance on K. Ryan's Undaunted Affair to get the trip and be good enough to get placed at big prices.

    Racing Post Charge

Slow for me too recently. For instance when opening a new window for a horses form. Try pressing the window key, it seems to free it up and the page I want is open on the bottom task bar, although you have to close the menu that pops up. Don't know why but it works for me.

    Chester May Meeting

I saw him. I thought he was just going through the motions really and his mind was elsewhere. He was asked some good questions by Holt and Luck but ducked the issue praising W. Buick, not undeserved of course but a dodge non the less. I suppose it was unlikely he would admit to a badly...

    Chester May Meeting

Have a sleep on it. You might wake up and see that Mutagh's not lost it and you have found your sense of humour!
