2021 2yos including Colin's First Season Sires

Wednesday

Redcar: Gnat Alley (Caravaggio) for T Easterby and Sweet Madness (Galileo Gold) for Karen Tutty
Kempton: Golden Warrior (Cotai Glory) for Hills

Thursday, across the card double for Cotai Glory

Eldrickjones (Fell) at Pontefract
Dungar Glory (Keatley) at Wolverhampton

Saturday

Newmarket: both Group 1s taken by FSS. Tenebrism (AOB) had not run since her winning debut in March for Caravaggio. Perfect Power (Fahey) gave Ardad a much deserved Middle Park victory after effectively coming round the whole field. Both these winners could be aimed at Newmarket next May.

Chester: Flaming Rib (Ribchester) for Dascombe
Ripon: Young Winston (Churchill) for Bethell

Catch Up

Monday Newcastle: Aunt Bethany (Cotai Glory) for Watson and The Menstone Gem (Galileo Gold) for Makin
Tuesday: Mr Alan (Ulysses) for Boughey

Thursday

Bellewstown: Plume Noire (Harzand) for B Duffy
Chelmsford: Abbado (Almanzor) for Prescott
Salisbury: Wind Your Neck in (Decorated Knight) for Evans

When I look at the Leading Sires list I can't help feeling I missed the wins achieved by FSSs Divine Prophet, Johnny Barnes, Ectot, Hootenany, Spill the Beans and Peace Envoy.

Friday
Newcastle: Peripatetic (Ulysses) for Varian
Newmarket: Ribbon Rose (Time Test) for Botti
York: Josies Kid (Ardad) for Haynes

Catch-up

Thursday:-
Curragh: Dancing Rebel (Highland Reel) for Condon; over 5f
Friday:-
Haydock; Franz (Almanzor) for Ryan; Amor Vincit Omnia (Caravaggio) for Dascombe

Monday
Pontefract: Mr Professor (Profitable) for Dods and Reelemin (Highland Reel) for Morrison
Wolverhampton: Dakota Power (Aclaim) for Teal and Resilience (Aclaim) for Kirk

7 2yo races at Newmarket tomorrow and I'll be there signing autographs

Wednesday:

3 FSS winners at Newmarket: Canterbury Bell (Ribchester) for Haggas; Wind Your Neck In (Decorated Knight) for Evans; and Lawful Command (Churchill) for Meehan.

at Kempton: Orzo (Aclaim) for Balding

Thought Soul Stopper (Postponed) and My Prospero (Iffraaj) looked to have futures

Saturday

An across the card double for Ribchester: Flaming Rib (Dascombe) at Doncaster and Gisburn (Hannon) at Newbury.
Chelmsford: Windseeker (Aclaim) for Hannon.

Luxembourg (by Camelot) wins the Futurity at Doncaster and is the first 2yo colt winner of a leading race likely to stay the Derby distance. All the other top pattern winners look milers to me.

With the season coming to a close, COTAI GLORY appears to have an unassailable lead:

COAI GLORY 34
PROFITABLE 28
ARDAD 26
CHURCHILL 21
GALILEO GOLD 20
CARAVAGGIO 19
ACLAIM 17
RIBCHESTER 14
ULYSSES 13
TIME TEST 12

The leading sire of 2-y-o y wins this season (GB & Ireland):

MEHMAS 47
KODIAC 43 (can't see him being champ)
DARK ANGEL 39
COTAI GLORY 34
SHOWCASING 31
