A Device Found In London

A side effect of the 'critical status' is that ambulances throughout London were put on standby. A pregnant woman collapsed in my friends office in Sutton and they called an ambulance only to be told none were available because of the alert other than for major injuries or possible heart attacks. He took her to the hospital in his car but had no idea of what to do if her condition deteriorated.

'They' have downgraded to 'severe status' according to the radio this evening. Mind you I wonder whether something was going down earlier around 8pm as about 4 marked cars and 3 unmarked cars went haring London-bound down the M3 between junctions 2 & 1.

Two suspected in the bombings have been detained here in Australia in the last 48 hours. One is now officially in federal police custody whilst the other has been released and cleared of any wrong doing.

The one arrested had made numerous calls to the mastermind in Great Britain, trained in the same hospital in Liverpool and the mastermind apparently had his SIM card. Also had bought a one way ticket to India (via Malaysia).
I would hesitate to use the word 'mastermind' to describe anyone involved in this - they firstly made two car bombs which didn't explode (how hard could it be - you can get it all off the internet, probably like making flat pack furniture) and then the best plan of action they could come up with was to drive to Glasgow, crash a car and set it on fire.

Pure genius.

Liverpool airport was closed for four hours today after police found a suspicious car parked outside. It was taxed, insured and still had its radio and hubcaps.

Police have revealed the name of the mastermind behind the Glasgow Airport bombing as Sinj Mijeep.

[QUOTESeriously, the FT reports intelligence from the spooks who monitor Muslim fundamentalist websites that a bombing incident was both incited and indicated, apparently to underline that G Brown supported the Iraq war, but also in protest at Salman Rushdie's knighthood [which made me feel like bombing Downing Street too, Rushdie having sold his huge archive of papers to a US university whilst having accepted millions of quids' worth of security from the British taxpayer to save him from the consequences of his own arrogance].

And so AQ decide to specifically target us, in response to Rushdie's knighthood. God streuth. Of all the stupid decisions that Tony Blair has ever taken, this one has got to be right up there. I feel sorry for those poor people who might very well end up dying because of Blairs mis-use of something so irrelevant as the honours system. It just beggars belief. This was just so foreseeable, and Rushdie such an undeserving recipient, that I can only assume it was attempt to deliberately provoke. I'm genuinely flabbergasted that a government and civil service could have been so stupid

I wonder if he can be sued for failure to discharge a duty of care

Newsflash:
45 people have been glued to the floor in Dublin after Irish Muslim extremist set off a car bomb packed with No More Nails
