A question..

Looking at these dating sites, I came across one which is for 'Black singles'. Now, and this is for Clive to let him know I'm not all 'Guardian' and he will give me free tickets for the cricket, but what would happen if someone started a 'White singles' club? Would it be tolerated? I doubt it.

I used to go into borders on Charing Cross road before they were shut down (for a TK Max of all things) and they had a black literary section. I hated it.

She should also tell you that a lot of Muslim families kill their daughters if they go out with any sort of guy, Harry. So-called 'honour' killings are far from unusual if the girl's gone behind their back, regardless if she's gone out with another Muslim. Wrong country/wrong tribe/wrong sect/wrong colour... there's absolutely nothing egalitarian about middle or higher-class Muslim families. They want their girls going to the best provider from the best possible family, within their own sect of Islam, and preferably (unless the bloke comes in with a stonking dowry for the family) from the same country of origin. They will sometimes make exceptions if the man converts to Islam, of course, and is rich enough.

The darker the colour of the person, though, the more likelihood of African slave blood, and that's one reason why the lighter-skinned girls are sought by many Muslim men. They don't want to marry into 'lowly' blood. Turkish, Egyptian, Lebanese - all prized for their lighter skins. (And those are often throwbacks to the centuries when white girls were captured from pirated ships and sold into the white slavery markets.) Black African Muslim girls? They can be the 24/7 maids and nannies. It's a complicated market place!

Some asians can be racist towards black people, just look at the indian class system and then work out where a working class afro-carribean man would stand. Not much of this discussed on the british media, where it tends to always have to be White British V the rest.

Reply to Krizon. What Jack Straw was talking about a few months was not a nice muslim boy wanting to marry a white English girl, it was much more sinister that. What Harry is saying is that a muslim girl would not want to even speak or socialise with a white English man with a view to having a relationship, where as you seem to be instantly relating that to getting married or not keeping it in the family.

As Redhead said very well on the other thread though I guess you can't generalise too much on stuff like this. My best friend in London happens to be black, I've a good friend of asian orientation in the north where I am now. They are both regular guys, understand where it is they work ,live etc.

Marble is right too. not much too add there other than the fact that the left in this country (and elsewhere) strongly endorsed islamic bigotry on the basis that we had to understand them. They have now received a complete backlash from the white working class they laughably claim to represent but also from the more thoughtful middle class (chris Hitchens would be a perfect example of that constituency)
