A Winter Jaunt

Smashing place! really worth a visit, one of the very few places we could take the dogs in! they also don't charge an entry fee either they just rely on donation boxes which are placed throughout the centre, when we were sat having a coffee outside the cafe so many people were getting up & putting £10/£20 notes in the boxes it was nice to see :) when we went in to the gift shop we had a chat about the donations & it turns out they receive more money now that they don't charge to get in than they did when there was a fee!

A very Beautiful place with stunning scenery!

Look at it this way folks.

Devon is merely the Reception desk, Cornwall is the bedroom

Cue Tracey

We've got a great Cornish Pasty shop here in Gib, it's ace! I love the ham, cheese & leek ones - mmmmmm........

I took this photo of Barney in the winter sunshine at the weekend! Not a patch on Diminuendo's photos but another one for my collection.

Another cold bleak day. I decided on another bout of fresh air, this time about two miles outside of my home town. Dawlish Warren is a haven for wildlife, mainly sea birds. Here are a few snaps of the area.......Just when is the sun going to return!!!!

Tetley it probably is. I am not very good on Birds of Prey. It was quite large and had a long tail. It flew around me quite a few times and just looked larger than a kestrel.

God, that's terrible - I should have noticed that Tetley! :shy: This year I'm hoping that I can get to the place in the next village to my Ma that does hawking - they are well known & can teach you to hawk in a day. I'm dying to learn how to hawk - if possible, I would love to keep hawks of my own one day - only when I have a farm, or plenty of land, mind.

There is a very good place nr Newent run by Gemima Parry-Jones that is well worth a visit.

I've been hawking a bit, mostly since Christmas. Strepsils are helping, though.

That whelk is much lovelier in his shell amid the glistening pebbles than the little tub of his cousins I attempted to eat, c/o Barry Cope's Seafood Bar at Fontwell. Eeeuchh! Like large lumps of salted rubber. I can't imagine why anyone finds them tasty - along with jellied eels, they're disgusting.

LSD?. Is that loads of skinny dipping?
long shore drift - it's the reason they have the groynes there to prevent the sediment moving further along the beach (there should be a build up on one particular side of the groynes).

*convincing myself that this is university study*

Do you work for the local tourist board, Dim?

Keep this up and we'll all come and stay. With you. :)
