Aintree - Other Races

I'm really looking forward to Gerri V Shishkin which I consider to be a 2 horse race....and if Shishkin isn't right it will be as good as a walkover

I am leaning to wards Gerri as he is less likely to errror.

Sorry Len if ever a horse has completely shot his bolt it's Ahoy Senor I'd back him never to win another race tbh.

Bravemansgame is another who has shot his bolt

Corbetts Cross...trainer had a rush of blood to the head going for this.

My own conspiracy theory is that Ahoy Senor is already being trained with a view to getting his mark down 7lbs ahead of the 2025 Grand National :)

Dear Willie Mullins, if you ever need help with race planning, just pick-up the fu*cking phone.

Happy days.

One bet tomorrow, and off the cliff again with Il Etait Temps.

I had actually wanted him to go in the Turners rather than the Arkle at the Festival, as he doesn't really have the toe for 2m, but then he won again at Leopardstown over the minimum which basically kyboshed any notion of going in the longer race at Cheltenham.

I think the first pair in the Turners had hard enough races, and I really think IET needs this trip, so had a fair old go last night at 4/1. Flat track with a long run-in will suit him, I think.

Sometimes it pays to be a little bit crazy.....well done mate it hacked up

Well done Grassy.

Nice, easy winner, GH.

Always good when a cliff horse finally claws something back!

One race down, one Cheltenham winner beaten despite four weeks' recovery time.

Will this become a pattern?

Townend gave that away there [imvho].

I absolutely hate to see jockeys taking a pull when they have momentum and I reckon if he'd kicked on he'd really have given Sir Gino a lot to do. I'm not saying he'd have won it on the filly but he could have given the winner a much harder race.

Great to see one of Hendo's winning and well done Tanlic.

Another case of keeping the faith rewarded.

I get the distinct impression from watching both Impaire Et Passe and Bob Ollinger that the later has the higher cruising speed.

The way the ground is that may make all the difference in the closing stages so I am sticking with Bob Ollinger

Cheers.

Had Sir Gino jumped 3 out and 2 out he'd have won half the track

Not denying that - it's part of the reason I felt Townend should have maximised K's advantage at that point.

Also, K raced very keenly throughout and is better than the bare form too. She's very slick over the hurdles.

Ahoy Senor ran away with Derek Fox  that was an amazing run from a horse I thought was gone.

Gerri pulled it out the bag and I had given up on him 3 out.......amazing horse:)

Front two today were both very keen.
Kargese also keen in the Triumph.

I'm as big a fan of Shishkin as there is but he'd really have to have been at his peak ability to win that.

Unfortunately I had Gerri in a treble with Grey Dawning and Kargese. GD was some way off its best and I deliberately opposed Sir G on account of the stable form so that was a question of decision-making.

No complaints so far, though, and the racing has been enjoyable.

AS loves Aintree clearly. Bit gutted to see SG beat Kargesse as it ruined a treble for me!

Been told today that the problem with Hendos horses have indeed been due to the water not an infection? I know it’s been very public about the current problem the entire village is experiencing with overflowing sewage so not sure if it’s due to that or not. Anyone heard/read any different?

Smashing race again.Only just watched the replay.

That's Langer Dan with the handbrake truly off!

They might just send him chasing now with the Plate the target next March.
