Apparently there has been an outbreak of Covid among people working at the track and the authorities are unwilling to leave themselves open to bad press.
 
RP did one once saying Grand National meeting was cancelled because a rare bird was found nesting in the fence at Bechers Brook.

My favourite was the time the sporting life ran a story saying that they were going to have to bypass the canal turn thanks to a rare bird nesting [emoji16]

There is one doing the rounds this morning that the Cheltenham Festival will be increased to 5 days next year, with DAY 5 open for UK trained horses only :D
