Amazing story in Aussie

The Waterhouse family have always been a little controversial but this looks like a massive story:

I know Martin Pipe's dad was a bookmaker, but would this be allowed (mum top trainer, son biggest bookmaker) in the UK with the laying laws we have?

Worth googling Fine Cotton and Robbie Waterhouse (Gai's husband, Tom's father) if anyone fancies a read of even more Waterhouse related skullduggery and I'm told that the biography of Tom's grandfather, legendary bookie Bill Waterhouse is also worth reading too.

Aussies do it differently;
in 1991 Aussie trainer Bill Mitchell was banned for 12 months when a horse of his tested positive for THREE prohibited substances. On appeal the ban was LIFTED and a fine AUS $40000 imposed instead.

Agreed. I've got this book (gambling man by kevin perkins) which is a great read and insight into Australian racing and bookmaking from the 50's-90's. Highly recommended
