Anyone Help?

There are only three Po s I am aware of -

PO - the red tellytubby

PO - one of the police ( or army, cant remember which!!) horses

POetry and Jazz-( NOT named after the aforementioned tellytubby, he was/IS so gormless it suites him perfectly!!) my "racehorse" who (in short!!) I bred, broughtup, gave to Philip to train, had no steering (not P's fault, I hasten to add!), came home, got reschooled so he had steering (after a fashion!!!) returned, ran another 4 times, best placing was 6th of 8 (i think!!) with a flattering RP comment in running ( the best thing they said about him on the day ever was "dont bother with this one - watch for the entertainment...." !!!!) went to the Scottish Racing Academy - hated it, turned into an unrideable, unhandleable lunatic, camae home, was fine, came with me when i started new job - went as a companion, had to move as people gave up horses, got rehomed to Runcorn, VV happy, spoilt rotten and loving life.No longer a mummys boy.

Then theres PAU - in Spain i think, where the World Equestrian Games were held a few years ago

Any of them help???!!!

Po's been mentioned on here oodles of times by Troodles, Colin. Not recently, but quite a bit last year.

She's lovely and very strong looking !

The mare I mean not Songsheet B)

And Pau is in SW France trudi - famous for having had an English community of Wellington's soldiers who stopped there and never came home

That makes me sound like an obsessed parent Kri - I wasnt that bad was I???!!! ( OK , so maybe I was - sorry everyone!!!!! :shy: )

Colin - I've only talked about him on here - but I did go through a pretty bad time with him, and got in many an argument with people because I was making myself ill with worry over his various injuries and his behaviour , and got to the point where I was all set to have him put down rather that go on with an accident prone nutter that I didnt think I could rehome safely, I had a lot of support from the people on here, for which I am eternally greatful. Time will tell if he has reformed, certainally Ben is totally in love with him and has no plans to give me him back!!!!

He did have quite a reputation around the racecourses though, you may have heard whispers about him.......

Ia SW France anywhere near Spain??? ;) Al my GCSE Geography was about cloud formations and rock structure - not where places are - so I am hopeless at that kind of thing!! All I know isd its very hot there.....

Oh - and of course there are the various Po dishes in a Chineese restaurant or takeaway.....

Not me - I took him cross countrying when he was home!!!! ( it seemed a good idea to accept the bet after 5 pints of lager and a bottle of wine, then i couldnt back out of it!!!)

Think thats what got me my job - P reckoned if i could get him round a cross country course, I could manage most things!!! Needed an awful lot of brandy after though - and the rosette we got is my most treasured posetion ( along with the pic of me and Davoski in the winners enclosure at Cheltenham!!)

Sadly, I don't have the excuse of alcohol as to why I agreed to ride lunatic 13hh ponies....

Actually, they were boringly docile on Tues....humph! Still, I'm sure they'll be little buggers tomorrow when the place is packed!

Ponies + audience = wahoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

ooooo !!!!!

Well, I am delighted to report that I am still in one piece and able to walk! A few muscles I didn't know I had are in evidence though!

Maggie is an absolute joy to ride - very forward-going but appears to be utterly bomb-proof. I am fast on the way to being totally besotted with her and am still wondering why on earth her owners wanted to sell her!

My photos are so appalling I shall plead with Dims to call in on the way to her next visit to Taunton Races!!

Glad to hear you're both getting on so well Jules, that's great news! Long may the happy partnership continue!

I'm hurting today too - riding these ponies is causing untold havoc to my back - I reckon it's the concussion incurred by their choppy strides! I'm now being lent out by the Poni Club as some kind of miracle worker.... We have 3 Irish lads down there who are superb horsemen - they have been riding for only 3 months, yet are very good. The middle son, Rhys, has a lovely pony, Gualqi, his little brother Kyle rode him yesterday in a showjumping competition at the yard, Gualqi reared, threw him off & then stood on his back. Next thing my friend Julia was telling the boys' mother that if he continued to be a handful I would sort him out for them!

Yeah, my shoulder hurts too - reckon I must have wrenched it when hitting the little bugger I was on yesterday!! I was cantering around the arena with my stick in the backhand position ready for any misdemeanour.....

Songsheet, I'll be at the next Taunton meet, so if you want a few pics putting up, just give us a yell!
It sounds like you are having loads of fun, and I am dead jealous.

and this was him in his last race, before he got lost....
