AP McCoy The Legend

Well done if you picked that out. You must have some sort of system

Loves his footy.

He may be getting older but he's adapted and rides with much more finesse these days.

The numbers haven't changed so I doubt were stuck with him until he thinks there's a possibility he'll lose the title.

Another nice winner today and a sure fire double at Cartmel tomorrow you could live off the winners he's had since Galway.

Before anybody kicks off, this is not a criticism of AP as I agree he's a legend.

But wtf is a jump jockey doing riding 100 winners by mid August ?

Picking up Maguire's rides certainly helps. Add in the fact that the thought of not being champion jockey just drives him on relentlessly. He's a machine.

Barring a career ending inury, 5000 must be in his sights now.

Just checked and he is still quite a way off that milestone.

Maybe he will call it a day when he wins the gold cup on More Of That!

He'll be winning it on Holywell first along with the GN on 77 so he and I can retire at the same time!

I suspect AP is in the Holywell camp too and you could understand keeping MOThurdling as the division looks weak but I would favour a novice chasing route.

He'll be winning it on Shutthefrontdoor. Don't see the point in retiring myself if he's still enjoying it and on top of his game.

Being at the top of his game is not enough to stop him falling - and quite possibly being killed or left in a wheelchair for life - from the top of a horse.

Much as I like to watch him in action, he's pushed his luck enough and should get out sooner rather than later. Imho :)

The way he's going at present he's likely to surpass Lester Piggott's 4493 winners in early 2016!

Then Pat Eddery's 4633 and who knows then Gordon Richards' all-time record of 4870, though a solid odds-against shot to do that I reckon

Takes the first two at Worcester and at least 3 more great chances.
Sheer determination got both of them up

He will be fondly remembered for killing three of the best horses he ever sat on.
