I had to assemble a team of people today whose task was to call a list of customers (60,000 have been affected) and explain that there will be lists of phone calls on their next bill which they have not made and have not been charged for. One customer had 10,443 of these calls.

Some of the chosen few were reluctant to do so as they feared it would open a can of worms and other employees, not chosen, were volunteering to take their place. The "boss" responded with "those who have been chosen to do this must get started immediately and anyone who does not comply will be disciplined for not undertaking a reasonable task set out by a manager'.

Many of the people who were called went on to cancel their services due to the inexperienced way the nervous employees tackled the task.

I was fuming.
We got this on our last bill - 3,000 odd calls I believe. They were looking for the full amount too, and would not hear of it possibly being a mistake. I will try and find out what the latest state of play is with this (I am not the account holder), last I heard they were still looking for the money and the small claims court was being discussed...

I did argue that I was only doing my job but she insisted. What could I do? :D
She also said she liked my double entendres, so I gave her one.

I am / was a boss -had a few problems cos I dont like upsetting people - btu to be honest - Im not employed to be best buddies with everyone - Im employed to make sure the job gets done and the horses ae well looked after. Im just lucky that Ive always had a good enough relationship with the epople under me that it all seems to happen fairly smoothly!!(though it helps if they have a bit on initiative - theres nothing worse than someone you have to constantly give jobs and wont think for themselves!)
