No doubt if Nicholls ever reads this thread he'd bring out Big Buck's on the Flat and run up a 110+ figure! That would blow the rest out of the water.

Guess Cape Tribulation after today's effort worth a mention. Currently 158 over hurdles, will go higher than that over fences now and 83 on the Flat too.
 
Yes, I reckon he could be a proper Gold Cup contender on yesterday's performance. Imperial Commander may not have been 100% but CT was giving him weight and was always travelling like a better horse.
 
I totally agree with the two preceding posts- see GC thread. Sometimes it takes some time for potential to be realised-in both senses of that word.
 
So here is the league table, only focussing on horses with a combined rating of greater than 400. Note, I have used RPRs for those with an asterisk.

Overturn 112 + 168 + 158* = 438
Captain Cee Bee 95 + 152 + 167 = 414
Celestial Halo 110 + 170 + 131* = 411
Fair Along 94 + 164 + 152 = 410
Kempes 104 + 142 + 165 = 408
Cape Tribulation 83 + 158 + 165 = 406
 
Interesting. I think for a horse to qualify he should earn a minimum mark in each field. Cape Tribulation too low on the flat and Celestial Halo too low over fences.
 
Snow Falcon (99 flat, 159 hurdles and 160 fences) and Mengli Khan (96 flat, 150 hurdles, 154 fences) are two others in the 400 club.

Wicklow Brave is entitled to second place on this list. With peak official ratings of 115 on the flat and 166 over hurdles, and a chasing RPR of 142, his total of 423 puts him on the podium. What a wonderful horse.

By the way Overturn started on the flat and therefore never ran in bumpers. Wicklow Brave won three such races and had a very healthy RPR of 120.
