Betfair Chase

I reckon they'll ease off him now and look to bring him back for the Gold Cup. If he doesn't look up to it they'll try to get into next season's Grand National off a feasible weight.

He got it last year and will be a year older/stronger.

Can't think of any other race they would want to target with him.

I was referring to the National which you mentioned.

As for the Gold Cup. Did he really get the trip? He had decent ground and no pace to run at but got run out of it when hitting the front. Even with a bit of improvement he is highly unlikely to get those soft fractions again. Add in the potentially less decent ground and I think the trip will find him out. Could be wrong but time will tell.

Yes, there would have to be a doubt about LIT's staying the National trip. You never know until you try.

I don't imagine many people expected Master Oats not to stay it having won the Welsh National so impressively but he didn't.

It's one of the attractions of the race, trying to figure out - or even just place blind hope in it - what will stay. We don't know until they prove it.

I certainly didn't expect Magic Of Light to stay it.
