I see that An Capall is 79 today. Except that, of course, the Little Horse isn't. I know for sure that he's only 67, although due to being a foundling, he looks much older - he was brought up by feral dogs for the first three years of his life until rescued by the Holy Mother of God convent in Co. Wexford, whereupon he was fortunately put to work grinding corn for their bakery, becoming a master baker by the age of 12. He also cared for the convent's team of donkeys, sleeping in the hay barn until he was 17, after which the mothers let him out to sleep rough, following a couple of unseemly incidents with novices. (And I don't mean novice hurdlers, either.)
Still, this seems to have done him no harm, and while I believe he is now a secretive creature of the shadows on here more often than not, I wish him a very happy day, surrounded by good cheer and the delightful offspring of Sisters Faith, Hope, and Charity, the latter living well up to the tenets of her faith, bless her.
