This is emotive guff. Liberty and other organisations like it exist to protect the rights of individuals vis a vis the state. Had the state been responsible for the leaking of this list then I would expect them to condemn such an action.

In the same vein, had a renegade branch of the Militant Slayers of the Infidel leaked details of their organisation's members I would not expect Liberty to get involved.

As has been previously pointed out, the fundamental difference here is that the leak came from within the BNP. If the government were to have leaked something like this, all hell would (rightly) be breaking loose.

As for Griffin, don't give me that "protecting his constituency" nonsense- I don't buy it for a second. In fact, I seem to recall he admitted during the Radio 4 interview that the whole incident might bring good publicity to the party. He will milk the situation for all it's worth; that is what he does. The man is scum IMO.

tricky really given that they live underground and ruin lawns most of the time i suppose
 
I wouldn't discount the possibility of it being infiltration, although its most likely to be a radical leftist group rather than a civil liberties or government job (I use government as a broad term in this case). I doubt very much Griffin believes its good publicity and this just looked like desperate and rather unconvincing spin to me. The disgruntled former employee suits the BNP better by way of explanation, they wouldn't want to advertise the fact they'd been compromised
 
Wasn't there a schism in the organisation a little while back? Disgruntled (ex-)member it is. Occam's razor and all that.
 
Although no where near as fractious as the various leftist groups, they've got a history of it. Indeed, Griffin rose to lead the BNP as a result of an internal putsch over John Tindall. He in turn had broken away from Martin Webster's NF. There's various neo nazi splinter groups that broadly dive between the two camps, although some of these are almost certainly imaginary creations of the SIS when they were looking infiltration mechanisms that have gone a bit wrong. A bit like the germ that escapes from a biological weapons laboratory

Back to the bnp subject. I got an email ( from someone connected with the police force no less ) where you can put in your post code and it lists the names and addresses of any bnp members in the surrounding areas.
 
Know you of this person, who are they claiming to be a police officer etc? various sites with maps were produced in the immediate 48 hours afterwards, but most (if not all) were taken down within a day.
 
I do know them Warbs, and have done for about 20 years. I didn't say they were a police officer, I said they were connected with the police.
