Reading Zlatan Ibrahimovitch's autobiography at present. It's fascinating in the sheer, self assured arrogance of the man - actually makes him likable it's so pronounced.

ps..Clive - Canada is overwritten, clever clogs, bilge.

Ah

Well i have had a lot of time for his novels so far but authors can lose it a bit cant they? James Ellroy became unreadable

I hate overwritten stuff too. dont have the patience. Surprised in his case but there you go

They should all take a lead from William Trevor. less is more

Don't know if there are any Val McDermid fans on here but I would like to warn you off her 'latest' offering 1979.

Difficult to believe it's written by the same person who created the Tony Hill character in the "Wire in the Blood" series.

!979 is populated by characters straight from central casting, she uses every cliche in the book and several dozen more. Only managed about 100 pages (unusual for me to give up on a book, not written By Jeffrey Archer) but plot seemed absurd.

I feel as if I have been scammed and surprised that Ms. McDermid has allowed this to go on sale in her name.
