Breeders cup 2023

I thought they did a good job. As previously mentioned Adele and Jason are excellent. Jason had a fair stint working at Santa Anita so has good first hand knowledge of the track anyway and also US racing. Oli just does what they pay him for...there’s always the producer wanting the “personal” side and interviewing the general public (almost certainly hasn’t a clue about racing itself).

In regard to the other former presenters mentioned, McCririck was awful and yes a bully (Chapman still an a*se but quieter most of the time now). Alistair Down however good, has serious alcohol issues which was why he got binned. And I don’t like how they wheel out the “Bruffalo” on high days and holidays!

Scudamore as a new recruit is good and I expected him to be despite his father being constantly tongue-tied when he was briefly a presenter. (Tom Scu went to same school as me so of course he’s good.....!)

Coming back to the BC races, I've only just watched Inspiral's race. I have to say, the filly dug Dettori out of a bit of a hole. Watching the race, the ride that was impressing me most was Moore's on Warm Heart. He had her exactly where I'd have wanted my horse to be and he made what could have been a winning move at exactly the right time. But Inspiral is genuinely very high class and had the pace to cut her down close home.

I wouldn't be rushing to praise Dettori for the ride but, yes, definitely full of praise for Inspiral. She's probably a good half-stone better than the bare form.

Agree.

Inspiral was clearly the best over the 10f. Luck has been on frankies side recently. He gave king of steel a very poor ride IMHO. I can't emphasise how much better the yanks coverage is. Itv is so poor in comparison. Adele is nuanced and puts a lot of thought into her tips. Jason the same. Unfortunately can't say the same for the rest of the team.

Moore was fined $20,800 foe excessive use of the whip. Can't say I disagree as I thought at the time he was needlessly being way too severe. So much money at stake seems they are all willing to go a bridge too far

Coolmore will pay it for him, not even a fifth of the covering fee AR going to stand for.

Didn't see that coming. Aidan maybe persuaded the lads. Ar looked really well in santa Anita and deep impact was a unit the older he got. If the issue was his breathing then hopefully they have sorted it. Wee elephant in the room is city of troy or Henry longfellow if he stays 10f. Nice problem to have but still strange he's staying in training. The lads clearly want to win the classic. We shall see.

Maybe meet equinox in the sheema classic. I think ar is very underrated especially on fast ground. Think it would be close as equinox would pull ar along and ar has high cruising speed. I can see ar going for 10f races and his main target being the juddmonte. If he comes through that OK it's onto the USA. The great season for justify and also Wooton basset means they were happy to let ar run again. Hopefully it's not a wet spring/ summer and we see the best of ar.
