The ride of Buick's is no different to dozens per week given to be fair...the judgement of pace is key to a great jockey...without it a jock will make many errors...some jocks just make fewer errors than others..buick is one of those that makes fewer errors.

Jockeys make mistakes every day
 
Most of the races throughout the night up to that point had been won by horses on the pace. Buick was riding the track and surface as it was on the evening and just got the pace a little wrong.

We also don't know how good Magician is over this distance, we may never find out but he could be a monster.

A lot of pocket talking going on IMO. I backed the Fugue as well and didn't think Buick did much wrong.

I had The Fugue to win me a large payout from an antepost multi. Buick did absolutely nothing wrong. The horse was desperate to go faster as they leave the back, if he had held on to her she might have downed tools or pulled for her head. He got mugged by a better horse at the death. Nonsense to suggest he went too soon. As Gosden said, that's horse racing.
