Irish Derby winner Soldier Of Fortune has joined the Coolmore National Hunt team at Grange Stud in Fermoy, Co Cork. His fee has been set at €5,000.

Well I can report that Frosted Grape has gone to live at some kind of health spa - it sounds absolutely wonderful up at Shade Oak Stud, I'm tempted to join her!! She's off to Black Sam Bellamy this year and we are seriously going to contemplate Telescope for 2017.
Raisin, grapes 2015 Arvico foal, had a bit of a setback just before weaning which knocked him back quite a bit so he's staying for the forseeable future.

Best of luck everyone expecting / breeding this year!!

The sale due to be held after racing on Festival Trials Day at Cheltenham has been moved to Feb 18 due to bad weather causing shortage of PTP/racing prospects.

Well done on the nomination!

A friend and I were trying to arrange a visit to see a certain stallion recently, friend is self employed and taking week days off is a no no, so tried to book a weekend visit, was told by person at stud; 'oh no we don't do weekends'.
Well that stallion's a no then.

I appreciate they work hard but so do I and my friend! Well if nothing else had no idea how I was going to pay for him, but think the fee will go up dramatically next year, but obviously someone trying to tell me something.

Just finishing the plans for our lot - using Holy Roman, Ruler of the World, Cacique and Dandy Man. Expecting a No Nay Never, a Zoffany and a Camelot. Will be selling a Zoffany and a Declaration of War in September.

Someone raised an interesting question on the Final Furlong Pod about Coolmore buying up all the top NH stallions now to maybe offset the dominance of WPM and possibly benefit Joseph O Brien in the long term

A real eyecatcher by all accounts.
10k fee which is some increase from 1500 in France where he struggled to get more than twenty foals a year.
Don't think it helped that he wasn't really ever going to be a top grade flat sire and he didn't exactly look a natural over hurdles.

Certainly producing some nice types now though :)
