What was the point in sacking McCririck and then replacing him with someone who tries to copy his style?
 
I like Cunningham.

Gleeson seems a nice chap but is pretty bland. He used to perform the same role on the BBC and was presumably "headhunted" in some way but it's hard to understand why. He doesn't bring anything to the role that sets him apart.
 
Nick Luck is slick. Met him in person and he's just as smarmy. I like that.
Graham Cunningham is boring.
Brian Gleeson is very likeable and approachable at the races but he knows nothing about punting. Whoever said he trying to me like Big Mac is spot on.

Gleeson was as irritating as could be on BBC and they even gave him the push . I should have got Sean Boyce in to do the betting . Tarnya was worse than ever - who did her make up - poor woman looked like she had left her face under a sun lamp too long or someone had smeared it with old style Clearasil for a joke .

I think Cunningham's days might be numbered - he was dreary and loved the sound of his own voice enough on RUK . I suspect a non specialist audience on C4 will be finding him a right bore .

On the other hand , I was never tempted to switch to ATR - unlike with the BBC coverage.
 
It is very hard to please people.
Brough Scott in Racing Post wrote in reverential tones about Claire Balding whereas Julian Wilson pretty much refused to work with her.
Too many presenters seems to be the problem now on any show more than anything else.
Tuned into ATR at some stage to hear McCririck describe his female co host as "the lay of the day". I wonder will the plaintiff or defendant use it as evidence.
Thank God himself and Brix did not share a screen together is all I say.
At least B Gleeson has a regular hair cut and dress sense and does not try to copy Big Mac in style visually.
 
I liked Brix and hope she's back for the July meeting - though not looking forward to £55 entry fee as The Fall are playing after racing on July Cup day :(
 
Disappointed that she didn't go with cowboy boots, jeans, checked shirt and stetson on Ladies Day but a pleasing introduction :)
