Bumpers

Good luck to you both, will be shouting them home for you - sadly from my living room rather than Cheltenham :(

Was GR supplemented, Roddy?

He closed out a successful Trixie for me the other weekend and I immediately went to back him, but he wasn't quoted at the time (Iremember this) .

Not supplemented , he was always in but not quoted. I think one of the reasons is people don't realise we have changed our style and have a fair few Winter horses. You needed to ask for a price but best was 33/1 which you can get today

For those following Paul's Bay of Freedom, note that the runner up in the bumper he won at Galway, Captain Von Trappe, won his maiden hurdle at Naas yesterday.

The dream is on.

Thanks AC and now I can confirm that Noel Fehily will be riding - delighted about that. Katie has done a lot of great work on the horse in his two runs and in couple of racecourse gallops - it looks like she will be riding one of the Ricci horses.

Re Captain Von Trappe I have been saying all year that you can't compare hurdle and bumper form but have come to realize (very recently actually) that I was spouting nonsense!:D

Gordon Elliot and 20,000 mad Irish punters went for a jump start for Cheltenham in the bumper at Stratford with John Monash yesterday.

I'd imagine Gordon Elliot might have a winner at Cheltenham that won't be backed off the boards because his fan club already did half their brains in.

Ruby declared to ride Bellshill tomorrow
Bordini and Pylonthepressure have been the talking horses for weeks hmmm :ninja:

What is the deal with the Mullins' horses today? DJ Mullins normally rides the Gigi horses yet rides Pylon and Townend jocked up on Stone Hard? Strange one...

patrick gets first preference, ruby, Paul, Danny and whoever Gigi want for their own.

gigi don't usually go for this bumper

Somewhat significant that they do so would you agree? I'm getting drawn to Stone Hard between the jockey booking etc...see what the market does nearer the off.

Agreed, links. He was certainly on the horse to do it but he did it and made it look good too.

I'll need to see it again but I think they must have gone too fast up front. Great result for the UK bumpers though. Some really exciting prospects there.

Bay of Freedom is in on the number; we're in the Champion Bumper. Apparently dreams do come true. Thanks to everyone for your support. Now the pressures really on!

Just looking a the full result there. Finished 9th and finished ahead of ALL 6 WPM runners!
Great performance. More than credible in my humble view. Congratulations and I hope he goes on to bigger and better things for you now

Saw that Roddy. Came swinging there half way through and thought was going to do it for a second. Commiserations with RM not making the race tomorrow. Devastated as had in some doubles and a treble with a couple of the first day short priced winners :(

Got left at the standing start so he had to hold him up,took the bravest route from there in.probably a bit of pocket talking here but I look forward to seeing it again later on tv.

Thanks DH. We were very happy. He went sideways at the start and had to sit and suffer - he ran well and have a lot to look forward to. The winners a nice horse and Scudamore gave it a fne ride. May go to Punchestown next but really looking forward to hurdles next season.
