Byron Burgers boycott

You don't know the facts then? Clearly not

ilegal workers with forged documents ? You think that's ok?

Fcking hell

Are you telling me that the majority of the "actual" working population over there endorse the actions of Byron Burger here?

This wee fud has been rising fast up my chart of 'Most Irritating Cu*nts', over the last 18 months.

A foppish, hand-wringing, whiney, little gobshite, of the highest order.

This has to be the best marketing ever??
I have never heard of Byron Burger until this!

The article makes the perfectly rational point that failure to enforce labour law not only leaves the way open for exploitation of immigrant labour but also forces down wages and living standards for locals. Why would anyone jeer, it's obvious?

I'm more disturbed to discover that there was a poster called Clivex1 in the Guardians comments section. Surely to God no one had registered the name Clivex and forced him into using a 1 to distinguish himself. Perhaps there's a factory of them

Byron burgers are class. The courgette fries are superb. Certainly they will be getting more of my business from now on

i

i think it's pretty obvious that isn't the main thrust of this guardian clueless crap

What some of the guardian reading filth needs is their £100k ten week holiday 30 hour week non jobs lost to illegals with forged papers. Plenty of squealing then

The left are of no use whatsoever to the British workers. None at all. All the tories need to do is shove this article through every labour letterbox in the country

C'mon now, Art.

That's a smokescreen for the real point of the article; the hateful Capitalist running a sweatshop, and "grassing-up" poor, downtrodden Comrades, to the authorities.

Jones is Pilger-lite in terms of his policy positions - not to mention the quality of his writing (vapid, imo) - and he expertly combines this with all the poncing, entitled, foppery, of a Blair-Age social-and-political-sciences hot-air blowhard. He can go fu*ck himself.

:D

Don't understand all the hatred/abuse on this thread. In my experience, people resort to such insults when they're aware, on some level, that they're views are built on sand. Like a narcissist trying to defend an over inflated sense of self-worth....

To be clear, I'm not accusing anyone of being a narcissist, it just an analogy.

MFIM, he gets right on my tits...what can I tell you? Besides, "hatred" is a strong word, and I don't think you can read that into either of my post on Jones. Abuse is fair game, if it's for the craic, and correct in every respect. :)

As for "views"; he has his, and I have mine. I also have my views on his views (plus his writing and overall 'style'), which I reference above. Insofar as the rest is concerned, I can't be arsed discussing the subject-matter in depth, due to its tedious and irrelevant nature (which was Clive's point), and I freely-concede that I'm generally bone-idle under such circumstances. But I don't concede any argument.

Whether my inherent laziness subconsciously affects my sense of self-worth, I wouldn't know, but consciously, I prefer to think of myself as a big, fat, contended hobo, who is passing comment to kill the hours until the Kerry Nash. I might be a narcissist, but I forget what my star-sign is. Regardless, the psychoanalysis is gratefully received, but I fear you may be reading too much into it.

To be clear, I also think Moscow Flyer is magnificent.

Haha. Fair enough grasshopper. Like I said, didn't mean to imply anyone was a narcissist or to cast aspersions on your sense of self-worth. I can see where your coming from now. I'm probably what you guys would consider a "leftie" but certain liberal types can get on my nerves.

One of the many great things about the sport we love (and probably most sports) is that it helps people with radically different worldviews and backgrounds find something to agree on. Moscow is magnificent.

The article is, to put it fundamentally, shite. It starts off with faux-outrage about illegal workers rights then manages to sum up this outrage as being a result of tax laws, with no joining up of those dots in between.

It is only surpassed in the "end doesn't match what you started off saying" stakes by clives OP above. **** knows what he was reading.

I am, however, pleased with my self-restraint in not pointing out the rather obvious explanation for the lack of comprehension in post #9 on this thread.

Go on, it's good to see you have been let out again. The meds are obviously working!

What's wrong with being a Liberal type, what do you mean by that I'm wondering?
I take it you are referring to a Nick Clegg's or Charles Kennedy version of Liberalism, as opposed to California's?
The Liberal Democrats are more of a party of the centre ground now (or have been since 2010) than Labour is under Jeremy Corbyn, if that helps. The only party who stood up against Iraq 2003,
R.I.P Charles Kennedy too, bless him.

yes. Like a muttering paraffin. When he enters a thread you look the other way, avoid eye contact and hope he doesn't sit next to you
