Sea what I did there?
Confirmations – Caspian Caviar - Clan Des Obeaux, Vaniteux, Kylemore Lough, O O Seven, Le Prezien, Starchitect, Foxtail Hill, Max Ward, Long House Hall, Romain De Senam, Ballyalton, King's Odyssey, On Tour, Splash Of Ginge, Kilcrea Vale, Deauville Dancer, Guitar Pete.
No Go Conquer. I can see myself backing Kylemore Lough again here, although I thought O O Seven ran well fto.
Euro, just a heads-up. Kylemore is entered in the re-opened Peterborough at Taunton, though isn't jocked-up yet.
At a guess this is the main target of the year for Clan des Obeaux -10/1 is value.

I think "are you shh-till palaying with shh-mall furry animal mish money penny" will win this
I took 16/1 Long House Hall this evening.
There has to be a chance he won't run but if he does turn up I suspect he might be the type punters could latch on to.
Fifty two years ago Flyingbolt carried 12st.6lb in the equivalent of the Caspian Caviar Gold Cup and won by 15 lengths. Just saying.
He looks a very interesting runner Des certainly well treated ( due to his absence ) only a couple of pounds higher than his summer Summer Plate win which taking into account what he was doing in the early stages of the race made him look like a horse with huge potential. The break isn't as much of a concern as most would think it as he's won when fresh but more significantly finished 2nd in a Coral Cup after a long break. That not only shows a bit of course form but also that he handles the hustle and bustle of big handicaps. My only slight concerns would be if the ground does come up testing whether they would a) run him on it as he's had problems b) whether he'd actually handle it. The only other slight concern would be lack of experience over fences and coming back after a break whether his jumping would hold up especially as he can be a bit keen. I suppose you never get a 16/1 shot without a couple of question marks around it and he is certainly one of the more interesting ones that comes from outside of the Bet Victor form.
Good stuff Des and I take it that's the sort of case you'd make for him or is there something else.
Sporting interest will have to be on Foxtail Hill. After mentioning Slash Of Ginge six weeks before the Bet Victor then abandoning him nearer the race, I couldn't bear it, if Foxtail Hill won and I didn't have pound coin on.The one I'm considering personally is Foxtail Hill. He's a proper Cheltenham specialist, has already beaten some decent horses including Saphir Du Rheu and Le Prezien. I thought 147 was still a rating he could win off, but I'd welcome any feedback. I'd definitely put a line through the last day, he's better than that.

A bit of market support would help confidence levels.
Make of it what you will, which could sensibly be nothing, but I read somewhere that Rory Delargy had been informed by connections that the horse was already handicapped up to the hilt and there wasn't much more to come.
Err, I mentioned Rory earlier on the thread, if that's what you are referring to. He just gave me a personal opinion (I believe) that the horse is handicapped to the hilt. I'm not sure if that's what connections said to him, but you'd have to ask him that.
I think 147 is a fair enough mark, based on what he's done. Rory also told me he's a good horse when they give him too much rope.
The smallish field of 11 gives the impression the winner is easy to find. In truth its very open and competitive. Foxtail Hill has as good a chance as anything, (me thinks).
