Charlie Hall Chase

PN on RUK yesterday said TB would probaly go in the bet365 hurdle at Wetherby but I notice he's also entered in the JNWine Chase at Down Royal the same day.

Long Run is an obscene price. First Lieutenant win for me.

Agree DJ.

Long Run is incredible value relative to the price of Unioniste.

Prices seem to indicate FL doesn't go.

TGB indeed value, max e/w bet really. 9/1 in places. You have nearly 2/1 to place when on the day he will probably be around 1/2 to be in the first 3. Never mind the win part.

Long Run will be half using this as a prep anyway.

These are the conditions of the race, quite important really and not sure they're fully factored into the odds.

£100,000 guaranteed For 5yo+ Weights 11st Penalties after September, 2012, a winner of a Class 3 weight-for-age chase or a Class 2 handicap chase 4lb; of a Class 2 weight-for-age chase or a Class 1 handicap chase 6lb; of a Class 1 weight-for-age chase 10lb (Half penalties wins achieved in Novices' and Beginners' Chases in Great Britain and Ireland) Allowances mares 7lb pay £ 500

Long Run will have a 10 lb penalty too. Asking plenty for him to be at his peak first time out. The fact The Giant Bolster never wins a race, while not good for the win part of our bet, does at least mean he gets the full 10 lb.

Will be interesting to see the Paul Nicholls riding arrangements for Saturday.Wouldnt be surprised to see Ruby riding for him at Down Royal or Wetherby.

For a horse who has never been out of the first 3, I fail to see how Long Run is a bookies benefit. 2 King Georges and a Gold Cup suggest he's decent!
At this stage of the season I tend to watch rather than punt.

Possibly the amount of times he gets beaten at short odds.
