Cheltenham 2019 / 2020

Thanks both and would be understandable but heart-breaking if tomorrow’s called off, as have been going to the Countryside day for what feels likes a lifetime…

Whilst I hold that killing living creatures for sport is abhorrent nonetheless I too enjoy the sights and sounds of Countryside Day. The hunt horses and dogs, all immaculately prepared, are an awesome sight. We generally walk amongst the dogs and they are superbly conditioned beasts. I’d love to bring one home though our springer would not appreciate it.

Just been up for a look, standing water, lots of it. Personally can't see it being on tomorrow. Hope I'm wrong.

3:00 PM inspection tomorrow for Saturday's card and if there's standing water now and showers forecast between now and then Saturday has to be as serious risk.

Bumper card on Sunday ?

If anyone can find out when (if?) the 2 mile handicap chase gets rescheduled please post on here. Cheers.

Only 7 were declared...really like the look of Vengeur De Guye.

Looking at the state and forecast I very much doubt there’ll be any racing st Cheltenham this weekend

Surface water looks to have drained away, it's been light rain on and off, nothing too serious other than it will hinder any drying out process.

Quote from Simon Claisse

There is some false ground coming down the old hill, which stretches across the chase and hurdles course, about a third of the way down and at the bottom. We expect that to improve through There are other areas that we would be able to get around without a problem."

Men with sticks are spending a long time prodding the downhill run at Cheltenham The 3rd-last hurdle is being dismantled

Anyone travelling here tomorrow be aware the car parks are very very wet and in order to minimise disruption police are requesting you either car share or park in town and use public transport if you can.

My pick came 3rd. How could I have not backed this worthy winner?
