Cheltenham Day 2

I remember this day and race well. Malystic gave Saint Segal 13 pounds in weight plus a half a length beating, is only 1lb worse off at the weights, and backable at nearly three times the price for the Grand Annual.

Saint Segal was finishing fast to the line and I can see why he is appealing, (also showing blue on oddschecker).

I'd rather be with Saint Segal than a few others don't get me wrong. I guess my point is there is too greater disparity between him and Malystic in the betting.

Anyway lets hope both get declared especially after Peter Niven said Malystic didn't like it last time at this course (scoped badly afterwards).

This could be an example of a trainer actually changing their minds which I find quite remarkable win, lose or draw.

Saint Segal not declared by the looks of it. I hope you were on NRNB Euro.

I thought going into the week that impaire et passe was the best irish novice

After Marine today and what is said of good land, the ballymore may end up the race of the week

He's a **** price. The mug fav backers collected today, it won't continue. I want this beat, double green cunts.

There is no need to wait until the day to back a horse that will be fav

What price he goes off tomorrow is of litttle interest to me

Facile was turned over anyway and el fab was pretty obvious rather than a mug bet

It's almost as if I resent all the hype and care and attention and love they give these novices whilst obviously not giving a **** about getting Brandy Love fit. Wankers.

Brandy love is a bit of a dog

When something is carrying my money at least, I'd rather it not be something like her with a very iffy program and questionable mind

Not helpful as a post mortem but each to their own

I'd much rather David casey was not mouthing about impere ahead of tomorrow either as it feels like a kiss of death

Come tomorrow id half expect the thinking to be facile vega should of run in the neptune and IDP in the supreme

I was in your camp but I keep thinking that the Shishkin Energymene era if you like was over rated. It looks now like Shishkin is a buetter horse over further and Energymen really got his azz kicked fair and square last time so I am switching to Edwardstone.

I doubt if it would make much difference. As I said in my earlier post Passe looks the best Mullin has and I see the punters have come round to agree.

He's nowhere near fully furnished yet a bit like Sprinter Sacre was at this stage which is abit of a worry but a star in the making and next years Arkle winner IMO

Imo, Shishkin won because he needed further, in what was a prep for Energumene - much the same as his latest run.
Class will out.

I had a rethink and another look at the Brown Advisory;

I said somewhere I wouldn't touch Sir Gerhard witha barge pole but on reflection I think I am totally wrong.

He's a Ballymore winner has really done very little wrong.

Gerri Colombe has won all his 7 races but I've come across his type before.

When faced with real oppisition the fold like a pack of cards and see nothing about him
or his form that makes me think WOW he's a great price at 11/8.
Baco Coastal who he beat last time goes for the QMCC
or if the truth be known he's there for a chew at the grass and to say hello to the people.
He will be lucky to get within 20 lengths of the winner.

Sir Gerhard hasn't been put to the sword but WPM is agenius at bringing out the best in his horse
and his best is amile better than the favs

So my fiver goes on Sir Gerhard

have Impaire Et Passe at over 7s ap so hopeful he's as good as the vibes suggest. cracking race though.
backed Galvin in the X-Country
shoved a free bet on Before Midnight in the Grand Annual

that's about it for now. I fancy Edwardstone in the big one but not enough to put a fair bet on him at the odds.

I'm particularly looking forward to the Grand Annual later today.

I mentioned three horses on my blog who all take their chance in this race.

Malystic beat Saint Segal at Doncaster and is a proper big price. I just hope he can get into a nice jumping rhythm as he's been a bit unfluent this season which to have any chance today he will not want to be.

Call Me Lyreen also takes his chance. I wanted him in a handicap hurdle but as they chose this race I have had to have a saver each way.

Elixir De Nutz is my third fancy for the Grand Annual. I have backed him on the nose.

I just hope one of the above at least runs a decent race, but lets see.

Best of luck all for today.

I am sweet on this

Ah good luck to us then!!

From memory you are a Wakool fan aren't you, Trunch?

Do you give him an each way chance tomorrow?

Hopefully he'll be staying on when others are legless!!

I'd be chuffed if he could run into a place.

Should be staying on and race will be run to suit

Seems to go on any ground so not worried about the forecast rain

Be his biggest test so far though, can't wait
