Cheltenham Festival 2012: DAY 2

Tom Scudamore had a terrible day . The eclipse of Grand Crus and two shocking front running rides where he went much too quick .

I fear Lynch went too quick too on Sizing Europe as well . Simonsig was pretty dazzling but Cotton Mill was still going well when he refused. Great shame Fingal's Bay missed the race.

Cotton Mill was 9/4 when refusing. He was far from finished but what causes a horse to do that?

I would assume it would need some research done but it could be around elevated heart rate as a horse approaches a fence may cause neurological shocks to the posterior of the limbs that might make a horse nervous approaching full flight and loose control.

Don't think he would have got within 3l of the winner but they pulled far away from the rest

I'm not saying he would have won but ducking out allowed Siminsig to win on the bridle. He still has questions to answer.
