Cheltenham Festival 2012: DAY 2

Not much he could do, the horse seems to be a stayer.

Tom Scudamore is hilarious to watch. Someone should strap a watch around his wrist as he has no concept of pace. He went too quick in both the last 2 races. I wouldn't back a horse of his with stolen money.

Lessons need to be learned from this.what got up my nose is when the chief steward came out to the cameras and arrogantly tried to defend and play down what had happened.poor show.De Bromhead was brilliant afterwards very classy. If it had been me I think I would have left myself down

Was on myself, dont think you can knock Thornton that horse was being scrubbed a long way out. Turning in to a Henderson benefit. Where's Mullins where's Nicholls where are the rest of the Irish?

Of course, he blamed the jockeys for not looking where they were going. It's always the jockeys fault, is it not?

He def ran in snatches and his jumping was far from perfect, but i feel he should've been ridden closer to the pace

Stier comes across as real idiot. First his defense of the indefensable whip rules now this shambles of an ending to a champion race. Just no sense of owning up to mistakes with these people.

I was alarmed to see Vendor be the first off the bridle but I still thought he could win at the bottom of the hill. He got to the Kazlian comfortably enough but did he need to switch him inside before the last?

I didn't think so.

Impressed by what I've seen of Yes Way Hosay so far and the form of his Wexford bumper win is working out well enough (bit to find with Moscow Mannon on formlines) on ground that wasn't certain to suit IMO (won his point in good ground) and at 66's he looks well worth a few quid E/W (hoping to get more luck than my other bet today - Saphir River U/R at the second) for Northern Ireland trainer Roy Wilson who's in decent form and wouldn't be sending a horse to the Festival that he thought had no chance.

Pique Sous drifting like a barge.

Is it down to a perceived issue with Mullins horses?

I presume the market will be based around off course bookmakers with multiples running up on Barry Geraghty smashing up New Years Eve.

Figures. On New Year's Eve at much bigger prices and get beat by a longshot Mullins bumper horse. Not a good day.
