Cheltenham Handicaps

Olly Murphy quote:

Indeevar Bleu unfortunately will miss Cheltenham due to a small setback. Hopefully he will be ok Aintree.
Have to feel for Sean Bowen. 10 years in the saddle and never had a Cheltenham Festival winner. Missed Haiti Couleurs last year as he had to ride Resplendent Grey for Olly Murphy. Will be a similar story in the NH Chase this year with Wade Out / Backmersackme. Thought Indeevar Bleu would give him another good shot.

Having a Cheltenham winner should be hard. Sean Bowen has a lot more talent than Daryl Jacob, who eventually fell in with Willie Mullins.

And at the other end, Paul Townends fuming he can’t get on the JP horses in Willies, or he’d be odds on to beat Rubys record.

Fred Winter - Anyone says they know one are guessing. Back JPs

Ultima - Jagwar

Plate - Madara, Mclaurey

NHC - Not looked, shit race.

Coral Cup - Look on the day

Grand Annual - f%*& knows

Jack Richards - Meet me by the sea

Pertemps - Supremely West

Kim Muir - Waterford Whispers

County - Look on the day (follow Townend, wont be far wrong)

Martin Pipe - Thought Roc Dino, but ill go with Slim, better judge.

All found in the market though.

I also nearly put my Selma De Vary Boodles slips in the bin.
Way they’re talking she wont like the New Course and shes all speed, and a Champion Hurdle mare next year.

With Townend probably riding Macho Man in the Triumph, chance she could go here with Paul on. 139 and if shes a Champion Hurdle mare she should win.

Grand Annual - if the sun comes out and if the going has a G in it, my thoughts will be turning to Sans Bruit.

No bet till the 48 hr decs.
One I have my eye on is, Midnight It Is, in The Grand Annual.
Stayed on strongly to be 3rd last year. 2lb lower this time around + 7lb better off with the winner Jazzy Matty. 33s + 25s available.
Noticed Midnight It Is is confirmed for the Plate but not the Grand Annual. Although I fancy Madara, I can't let him go unbacked at 66/1 after last year's Grand Annual run.

Ultima - I've got three in this because I took 33s about Hyland ages ago was sure he wouldn't run and so backed Handstands (a bit prematurely really) and Leave of Absence. I'm afraid of both the JP's and they'll be in multis

NHC - Wade Out.

MGM Cup - The Yellow Clay and Storm Heart

Jack Richards - Koktail Divin at a nice price, value NR now looks like. I'll probably back Jordan's Cross when that's confirmed. The JP looks a hype horse to me.

Kim Muir - In researching this I watched the WW race from the DRF again and honestly I thought Kim Rocque was way more eye catching

County - Murcia and Workahead

MP - Will follow Slim in.

As ever at Cheltenham though my most important bets will all be in the graded races.

I've got Walsworth deployed, personally checking all the water tables closest to Prestbury Park and taking stick readings (with a Going Stick obtained off the Dark Web) while masquerading as an Alpaca Minder out taking said beasts for a walk on both tracks.

Once The Hertfordshire Bunny Murderer's full report is in at 11.00am on Sunday morning, I'll be having a proper gander to see if anything wants the back doors smashing off it at the price.

I put a little dabble on Workahead too, just as a starter ... Then I was a bit surprised to see him still in the Champion Hurdle, which I suppose is why he has drifted on the exchange. The owner likes to have a go. So I'm glad it was only a dabble, but I'd be interested once I know for sure
