:o CAROL SINGERS :o A ring on the bell, you go to see who it is, open the door and they start singing...another form of begging.... to have to endure this! A definate for ROOM 101.....

P.S. I don't mind seeing-listening to choirs on the street or in shopping marls and making a donation-contribution.....
I wouldn't mind carol singers if they did infact sing a few good carols for my benefit. However if they turned up, half heartedly mumbled a few lines of Jingle Bells and expected cash for it then I'd tell them to sod off.

- Mobile Phone companies giving me hassle in the run up to Christmas
- Paul O'Grady being a ball-bag in the run-up to Christmas
- Equine Obituaries at Christmas
- Moderators Deleting Things at Christmas
- New York hotels (stuck-up service) when I am over in the run-up to Christmas
- Running out of butter at Christmas
- People whingeing about Martin Pipe at Christmas
- Political Correctness at Christmas
- Pat Kenny (nobody in the public eye winds me up as much as this man) at Christmas
- Lying Car Salesmen (again, don't get me started) at Chrismas
- Habitat (the store) at Christmas
- My left foot (missed another great chance on Sunday in the second last game before Christmas)
- London barmen at Christmas (why can't they be quicker and why do they need to hang around like a plum whilst waiting for Guinness to settle; surely they can take my order while they wait?)

Griffin.....Oh yes I also agree with that synopsis too, which I did leave out by mistake....

If you get any carol singers, ask them if they think they have the 'X' factor then listen to them and then, give them the Simon Cowell treatment :P

I intend to do this and have a good laugh with them and will send them on their way with a few treats.

Just listen and say thank you and close the door

Or you could appear dressed in full pagan gear, garlanded and robed, waving a blazing torch and chanting in runes, thank them for thinking of you at this happy time, but you're just about to sacrifice a couple of goats to the God of Winter, and could they come back later when you've washed the blood off?

you live alone then ETTA?....I do also, but my family calls to see me and eat my food & drink my ale etc etc

And yes I cook the XMAS DINNER too......

When working for the Welsh office, I always choose to work over the Xmas period and its not my *happiest time of the year bring on the summer........ :D

*Apart from the racing.................. :) :)

This is going to be my first xmas day with my family for 4 years. The problem with being a retail manager is that we are only closed xmas day and I normally work on xmas eve till about 7 and open at 6 on boxing day. Luckily I have a good assistant manager this year so will be able to have all 3 days off. The only problem with that is I have to be at work at 3am on the 27th for the NEXT sale as we have an enormous next in MK that opens at 5

My mum will see you there. She always gets up to go there early.

The tendency for several people to slide back into grumpiness and intolerance over the Festive period - as winessed by some of the recent posts on here....

The tendency for attention-seeking people to assume those people are being grumpy about other people being grumpy when it is just an observation.....
