People reporting they felt their house shaking. To be honest I doubt it's a quake but simply some bored neigbours. When it's that cold out there aint much else to do but get the house shaking
This was reported in the local paper, the News and Star. It's one of those papers which like so many others now, allow people to comment on news stories on their website. I loved this one:
I was walking on a biggish puddle which had a thick covering if ice and i was about the centre of the puddle then all of a sidden it started shaking and i had no idea what was going on i thought that there was a thin area of ice which i stood on then i thought it wouldnt shake this rapidly then the surrounding ice started to crack away and water was seeping onto the icy surface from beneath and this made the ice twice as slippy for me to escape from off then as soon as i got off the ice it all suddenly stopped. I had no idea what happend until i got home and checked facebook i was going to update my status about the puddle until i noticed other people statuses where about an earthquake and then i tuned into radio cumbria and they have been saying theres been a earthquake in cumbria hitting 3.6 and i was relieved about that as i thought the puddle might have been opening me up to take me to an underground layer or something.
Hmm, guess who scored low on their English exam? And "i was going to update my status about the puddle until i noticed other people statuses... ". Some people are so grand, they even have puddle status!
How did people make sense of the world around them before Facebook? And how can I make sense of anything not doing [or knowing how to do] the Facebook thing. Does it mean I don't actually exist except in my own imagination?
