Yalta winning yesterday brought to mind a stat I saw a couple of years ago..."In 2014 Mark Johnston has a 45% strike rate 9/20 with horses that were beaten by 20 lengths LTO". I don't know if it is anything like that since then though.

Shafted by the rain and comes 5th still went off fav was expecting a big drift as well after the rain,a pity as must've gone very close as that result doesn't look good form to me..
 
Will have 2 ew lucky 15s won't be having much on after todays rain which wasn't even forecast as can see ground changing everywhere again

Carnival king caught the eye a little two races back when passed by the entire field over this c/d then ran a very strange race running on again even though beaten 5ls that was slightly better than tomorrows,was hoping to see bigger prices 11/1 hardly seems generous with profile but seems to like this c/d,only win here.It may even drift yet,is in blinkers for second time when ran poorly in them at goodwood after the Newmarket run.Think the fiekld all look pretty unreliable,so worth giving a chance to see if track brings out his best

Ralphy boy has become unreliable but this is his track,hopefully as other meetings ground will be good at worst runs off 72 lowest mark since august 2015 but with the 5 pound claim lowest since 12th may 2014 he had a trenmendous record on this track but not been showing his best this season.Ladt couple of runs shown a bit of promise 5th over this c/d had surewecan behind that was off 74 so 7 pound lower and even the 7th at chester in better race was ok has 10 pound pull with fav chaplin bay for 2 1/2ls.He has an ew chance if coming on again for thiose runs.Again another 8 horse race so every chance of 7 runners that's why small stakes.

Was struggling to find another for the multiple but will add in firecracker has been running well,althiough I get the impression better in better class races as the race at Donny when stopped and anything worse than good ground would be a negative.Jacobs pillow could run well,even though only won a claimer in last 12 months and ran poorly last time out if he got a lead from hos poor draw could run well he might be worth a saver as well..

£27 forcast £34 exacta flying...:lol: think you could've backed a dozen winners today I avoided all the shorties deliberately typical will settle for an end like that another second would've been a right head doer hope a few did the fcast as well,they did stand out an absolute mile in that race especially with holy grial always going to lead...

Been avoiding the cards this week with rain around again so won't be getting to involved till ground is known on meetings later in the week,little interest for tomorrow although still not certain on going..

3.0 Bath

Mentioned dusty lue awhile back when I put hom on here and was massive gamble with tongue tie back on then withdrawn at Chepstow,typically sluiced up when switched to the aw next time and then followed that up with a poor run with it off again at newbury.He now steps into a better race with it back on,he maynot be good enough to win this but worth having a small bet as last season won off 65 and placed off 68 also is 8 pound better off with babyfact when they ran 4th and 5th in a better race than this and he didn't have the tongue tie on.He was also a massive eyecatcher when 11th of 17 behind tomorriows fav go amber go although beaten 6ls was probably unlucky not to be placed as cantering,plus has an 18 pound pull in the weights,can't really see why he won't go off nearer 4/1 even shorter in this race if ground stays on the slower side and could sytill be a big gamble decent trade even if he doesn'ty show..

Just mention atalante ran in a decent little maiden at Yarmouth last time out and if the rain hasn't gotten in the ground looks the likeliest winner certainly looks the most progressive and horse with potential,was only .45 slower than fangs handicap on the same card at Yarmouth fang had 80+ horses in behind so the opening mark of 67 fior atalante looks very fair with only 3 runs.The only ? will be the ground as I said not knowing ewhat the ground will be there tomorrow as currently forecast as good more rain forecast,but one for notebook if doesn't show,could well win if ground stays on fast side and track misses the rain.

Rocket Ronnie has become hard to win with but does retain enough ability to win races like this,a second on his seasonal debut to jacbequick off 72 in a better race than this on gd/fm going, for horses rated upto 80,think the ground is the main thing for him if they havn't overwatered then the current prices look massive.He also retains headgear and blinkers and hasn't had them on since winning twice last season off 65 and 69,graham lee looks to have lost his confidence but did ride him when winning those two races,should at least be a cracking trade will be very surprised of this goes off bigger than 6/1 in what looks a poor race.
There is one other interesting runner,young Christian I put it on here last time out over this c/d again ground was just too soft,for some reason at thirsk you rarely get quickish ground on the round course as mentioned above if havn't overwatered and ground is gd/fm then might show up better this time,came out of that donny race with defrocked I put easter mate up last week race was chocca full of winners amd might be worth a saver..

Tschiersen ran in a respectablev maiden on debut and decent time again on fast ground behind grey galleon over 5fs at Windsor,looked best horse in the race with lack of experience not much value on the prices but wil be winning races again the ground might be the most important factor will be looking for quickish ground.

Another race where if the ground is on the quick side then there might be a slight edge for a couple in the race,the thoroughly exposed courier won for first time in 24 races but best ever run was over wetherbys mile where was 3rd of 15 off 67 in a better race than tomorrows.Since that run has been running on good ground run twice here beaten on good slower ground and would have nothing in hand on those runs,simply looks a better horse if ground is quick, same thing applys to desire quicker ground might suit with first time visor..

A similar thing at Nottingham if ground remains on the quick side Ifan of tim vaughns a veteran but likes fast ground could run well although best form in recent times has been at brighton a 2nd to Glasgow central off 58 is the best piece of form in the race probably a matter of whether going on the track a mark of 60 would still look ok rated 68 last season.
Might be worth a token bet on mystical maze has never been placed but ran a decent 5th over c/d in one of these amateur races with same jock whose had a few winners lately and mark brisbourne horses have run a little better..
