Dublin Racing Festival

Horse will be off.

Apologises for being thick. A horse being off, does that mean we’ll find the horse on a going day? Or a day it should have been left in its horse box?

Still learning all these terminologies.

What is the feeling on the form of the Elliot yard?

Obviously they were awful at xmas, should we expect a big improvement from those that seemed too bad to be true last time?

Wouldn't give it a moment's thought.

Wouldn’t surprise me if we were talking about how in-form he is on Monday.

This season, Liverpool have been shite, brilliant and shite again. Chelsea were back, under Lampard then couldn’t buy a win and are now title contenders. Man City were gone after a terrible start and have 2 months later, today been paid out on by a typical Paddy stunt. Man Utd have been a roller coaster.

Not that I give a f**k about any of them. I’m a Birmingham fan and we’re just shite, but the point is, form is temporary and class is permanent.

Dismissing Elliott horses purely on recent results will be costly

These are my short-lists for tomorrow's two handicaps.

They're based on a mixture of form, potential and gut instinct. I've included the best prices a moment ago but, other than taking 8/1 The Shunter earlier, hadn't checked the prices until then.

2.45
A Wave OTS
14/1
Aramax
10/1
The Shunter
7/1
Epson Du Houx
6/1

I've taken AWOTS too now and will think about the others tomorrow. I was hoping both would be much longer prices.

3.50
Blue Sari
20/1
Éclair De Beaufeu
40/1
Eskylane
16/1
Saint D’oroux
16/1

In terms of prices these are more like it but there's an element of the double-edged sword about them as there's always a degree of encouragement in seeing them go blue.

Mention of the Dublin Racing Festival brings a warm feeling. Hearing that the Harrington yard were feeling good about their prospects at the inaugural meeting I backed the stable's stables runners at the meeting and for their possible Cheltenham targets. Sizing John was their big winner on the day and at Cheltenham. In the absence of any guidance I am guessing that they have a similar programme this year.
In addition I'm backing two of my big Cheltenham fancies for this meeting and Cheltenham. Both Minella Indo and Abacadabas have something to prove.

First thing I did was put a line through their runners, they have been in rotten form, one winner from 31 runners in 2021 and December wasnt much better.

I agree completely. Hence I'm guessing they have a programme similar to that year, ie targeting this festival.

I’ve taken Energumene on with Franco De Port. On form over fences, official ratings and RPR there shouldn’t be anything like the price differential that there is.

Odds on vs 13/2

I think Unexcepted can get both of these into trouble with his jumping.

He is being overlooked in market because he missed the sexy races over Christmas, and I think 7/1 is a monster price myself.
