Why i hate bumpers.
Kilcruit looks a weapon and half but wont be running in open company till its nearly retirement age.
These are my short-lists for tomorrow's two handicaps.
They're based on a mixture of form, potential and gut instinct. I've included the best prices a moment ago but, other than taking 8/1 The Shunter earlier, hadn't checked the prices until then.

I've taken AWOTS too now and will think about the others tomorrow. I was hoping both would be much longer prices.

In terms of prices these are more like it but there's an element of the double-edged sword about them as there's always a degree of encouragement in seeing them go blue.

What a really good days racing that was. 5 winners that were all there to be backed and will run big races at Cheltenham, and Simon Torrens winning on the the two JP plots in the handicaps. The quality today was extremely high. More of the same tomorrow. Happy days.

Which leads me to wonder: with the Mullins camp committing so much to this festival, can they also peak for Cheltenham and the rest of the spring festivals?
Wow, what a machine Kilcruit is. That was insanely good.
It was the biggest buzz from a day's racing that I've had for many a day. Some fabulous performances that normally we mightn't see until the month of March. Honeysuckle to me was excellent today, how could you knock her? And Chacun Pour Soi, Energumene and Kilcruit also fully delivered.

Think that is going to be the biggest factor for the DRF from here on in. There was a 100k handicap chase yesterday with three JPs hammer and tongs over the last. Suggests that there are plenty that are viewing this as the big day.

Only because they are not in JP's Cheltenhan plans.
Perhaps. Mortals would have liked to have Drop the Anchor on your side in a Chelt handicap off yesterday's mark. The point is that these are as valuable as the cheltenham handicaps. And either horses are trained for the minute with this in mind or cheltenham. It will be a very dominant horse that can go to the well twice.
No that's all fair. Someone out up the winner to me and had a nice touch but I couldn't rule out any of his. That's the genius of JP, they all look like plots and you never know if off/not off and he plays to that.
