Ebor Meeting 2013

Simenon is such a big price tomorrow (15/8) it's almost putting me off, NAP of the week I thought.

9/4 from Stan James is too big, there is some uncertainty around the ground conditions but I think 9/4 overplays that.

I suspect a lot of that moisture will either drain down or evaporate by this afternoon, leaving it much closer to good. Maybe if the storm had happened this morning it would have been different. I'm just annoyed I took the 2/1, which was the best price going at the time.

She [Broxbourne] is a powerful, still maturing, 4yo filly, built for distance, that got Fanning out of trouble today. Ridden as he can ride her she would have won somewhat more convincingly today.

The form horse. Bo**ocks! Constantly improving in plenty of races since January up from OR 53 to OR 89 today who knows how much more in future. Game and likeable horse.

Interesting note from Simon Rowlands:

Readers looking for a horse to take out of the day's action from a sectional point of view are steered in the direction of Mawaqeet, second to Broxbourne in the staying handicap. Both those horses did well to close into a quickening pace, but Mawaqeet especially so. He ran the last 3f in 34.28s, according to TurfTrax figures, which was 0.84s quicker than Declaration of War had earlier. Mawaqeet is added to the sectional "to follow" list.

Well, it's more or less as simple as if he runs to Gold Cup form, he wins, no? If he is 2/1, that poses the question do you think this has better than a 1 in 3 chance of happening? I do

If anyone is at the course and reading this - please take a moment to nip up and "terminate" Graham Cunningham with extreme prejudice please.

Thanks in advance.

£2 e/w is what that translates as.

What fcuking turd burger of a meeting. Need the jumps to start oh so bad.

Lighten up, ffs. It's only money:lol:
The bog trotters should be in the ascendancy tomorrow, and your fancy Tiger Cliff should handle the ground and stays forever. Would've won at Ascot with a better ride, so gets in here c4lb light, plus any improvement he's made in the meantime.

Dangerous day to be punting as I fancy many but conditions may be changeable.

Races outside of the Ebor, I had a small fancy for Es Que Love in the first but that's now a NR, nothing inspires me to replace it. I've followed Van Percy this season and think it could go well for its good claimer today, shouldn't mind the easing in the ground and if he can get VP relaxed early I think it'll run well. Mister Impatience has been well backed this morning and would be the danger.

Parbold will do for me in the Gimcrack, I think they'll make plenty of use of him today and he'll be difficult to pass.

In the last I'd take a flyer on the 2 Fahey runners, Marys Daughter & Bispham Green, both decent chances at big odds.
