Equine Retirements, Long Term Injuries and Departures

The Kings Writ (to colic) who was trained by Kayley Woollacott after she took over the licence when her husband Richard so sadly took his own life. She said the horse was the only thing that kept her going after the owners removed stable star Lalor away as she couldn't face him leaving the yard too. He won many races pointing and had an incredible season recently winning three races at the ripe old age of 14. The whole yard are understandably devastated.
 
Rosallion's retirement has been announced. Overhyped or underachieved? I think he should have won more.
 
Very sad postscript to the Breeder's Cup:


There's always risk in racing but having shipped all the way out there with hopes and dreams, it is devastating to return home without the filly.
 
Looked bad for Irish Hill there at Plumpton

Never been a fan of that downhill hurdle just after the turn

Time they did something about it
