He asked for a recount, sounds like standard practice. It didn't work out so he conceded. Do you know more ?

The recheck was on the basis of suspicions from a Liebertas observer two floors up in the public gallery, that some wheelie bins were moved. Call my cynical, but there was over 10k votes to make up, and it is interesting that he chose a recount even though it was highly unlikely to make up the deficit.

His campaigning against Harkin was very unfair. He suggested that she would support the abolition of farmers' grants (although she should) and claimed that she was in favour of abortion (she is not). He claimed that she was in favour of euthanasia (she is not).

Seems a bit rich to me, Sheikh, given the amount of shite he slung during the run-up to the election (as Melendez has pointed out) and, prior to that, the flat lies he came out with during the Lisbon Treaty campaign.
