So... what wins?

I haven't been keeping up with it this year but the UK's entry is awful once more.

I heard Denmark were favs and their song is poppy enough, not unlike last year's winner, but I can't help thinking there has to be better out there.

I went Denmark, Belarus and Uk (11-10(!) 50-1 and 66-1 respectively yesterday)well,it was only 50p for BT!) to win outright, and have gone top 10 finish for Azerbaijan, Greece and Belarus (cant remember their prices though) - and threw Malta in when I heard it - really cute song I thought !!

so far so not too bad...

"Will Ireland or their representatives please come to the stewards room?"

Agreed - she was dreadful! I wanted Azerbajan - the man in the box was brilliant.

I really liked the Irish song; what went wrong? And the Netherlands. Think with a better draw it might have sneaked a place. As for our song; I know no one will ever vote for us but do we have to be so awful? [actually I relistened to the songs having only heard all of them for the first time last night, and the Irish song was pretty average and the Netherlands song was quite boring, albeit well performed on the night. Still don't get the votes for the Greek song though, unless someone wanted to really make them suffer by winning; and it was the only novelty song this year].

i know its all political and that we ain't gonna win again..but its pretty clear that we are a bit clueless with who we pick to sing..Bonnie Tyler?..ffs...Englebert..ffs..dire dire dire..they as old as hills..and were never any good to start with;)

you need a popular, good looking male..i can't stand the cnut.. but all the women in our office like Michael Bubble...he's who i'd get to sing next year..we'll at least get 50 points with him;)

I think whoever it is that chooses who were going to have sing knows its just a pisstake, The fact we have had in the last decade, Scooch, Jemini, A binman that came 4th on pop idol or whatever it was and sum charva that I cant even remember the name of the year before last just says it all.

Isn't he Canadian?

I think if we could get a good song we could win despite the politics. We showed that in 1997 and the year before when Gina G came second.

So was Cliff Richard but I think they're British by naturalisation.

I don't think MB is.

I'm not sure how Celine Dion managed to sing for Switzerland, though.
