Fairyhouse Easter Meeting 2017

Given that Airlie set up the £50000 bonus for them (joke!) you'd have thought they would do the decent thing and leave Let's Dance at home for this one.

I fancy myself to get the Reverse Forecast in the Irish National.........which is great, given I've never backed the winner of the race since Commanche Court!

You may be right.

Confidence is high though. If both run, it's between Our Duke and Minella Foru.

You can use a 12-inch nail. Thank me afterwards.

Minella Rocco has been taken out of most lists for the Irish Nash, which hopefully means connections are putting their eggs into the Minella Foru basket.

Still 16's in a couple of places, but there's been a little bit of money for him elsewhere, over the weekend.

Bit of money overnight for Minella Foru in the Irish Nash. No bigger than 14's now, though Our Duke remains a strong fave.

Anyone have a view on where the cut will end up?

I've been waiting for Oscar Knight for this for a while now. Looks touch and go whether he'll get in.

I reckon there's at least 8 and maybe as many as a dozen to come out ahead of Minella Foru, hezz, and he is #29. Not sure what max field-size is though.

Edit: There must have been a declaration stage today. Your one is number 40 at the moment. There's been money for him today, and it looks like he is 7th on the list to get in, as others drop out. There's still a few entered that ran at Aintree, so you probably have a reasonable chance of getting a run, I'd say.

Second on Grand National day, the Gordon Elliot trained, Rightdownthemiddle, was always going to be long odds-against, to make the cut for The Irish National, but has been entered in the chase at 6:10. I thought it was a very eye catching performance last week. He made loads of headway and showed plenty of tactical speed to come from last to second place at Aintree.

My immediate reaction was that he is an Aintree-National type for next year, although there could be a chase or two to win before then, from where he is situated in the handicap. l'm Looking forward to watching him, (if declared). He has to be on anyones shortlist, I would have thought.

What do people think about Giggingstown having all these runners in the Irish GN ?

Much has been said before, hit it certainly highlights further how much Gigi and Ricci are dominating Irish racing, as are Mullins and Elliott.

The owners and trainers who have just missed out on a run won't be happy. The only way to prevent things like this, which is bordering on farce, is to limit the number of runners from any single owner or trainer.

I might have had some sympathy for the owners who have missed out but it's somewhat reduced by the fact that all 3 reserves were owned by McManus.
