I confess I'm finding it hard to get excited about any of those races, granger........they look like moderate renewals to me (historically speaking anyway).

Be good to see VVM back on the racecourse though.

Maybe not a superstar in the field but it is a very competitive Drinmore - could make a case for the top 4

Royal Bond - Peace news made a nice impression the last day out and Saturnas impressed me even though Ruby hinted that he was more of a stayer

Always nice on the odd occasion that we get to see VVM in action

I'm looking forward to see next year's JLT winner in the Drinmore and it'd be great to see him stuff the army of Gigi runners he'll be facing.

You have word this is where Yorkhill won't be running then.

Looking forward to seeing Peace News again! He quickened nicely at Cork and that looked a good novice hurdle.

It's like a poker hand to me Frankel. I'm sat on a open ended straight draw, with the river to come so I have a 34% chance of catching. I can't possibly know whether anybody has been dealt a 7 or Q but I have to use only information I have available to me and therefore assume not.

That's the stage I've got to with the Mullins runners and AP betting.

Regardless, Yorkhill finished his novice campaign rated 154 over hurdles whereas Diamond King ended the season on 155 and while it's true Yorkhill hasn't had the chance to improve on that in open company he looked to be regressing in his last two runs and had started to show a few quirks so there's no guarantee he would improve.

Add in the facts a) he hasn't been seen over and fence, b) is not even certain to be this season and c) he could still yet end up Arkle bound if he is.

Diamond King on the other hand put in a beautiful round on his fencing debut and also has the previous festival winning form.

All that and yet the Mullins factor keeps Yorkhill at half the price of the rest of the field, no bigger than 5/1 compared to the 10/1 available about Diamond King.

Go figure.

You know where you're heading so clearly that's a big plus.

The full house will be worth waiting for though

AJ formbook says 1121122 so of course the next figures should read 11. Makes perfect sense to run her

Cold up here today. Wrap up warm.

Treble on Landofhopeandglory, Vroom and Peace News. Single on Alpha des..., exactas on the handicaps and listen for the gossip in the bumper.

I agree, but like Tea for Two over here the price seems worth taking even with that distance question mark. Also, the Drinmore and the Peterborough have both been won by 3 milers in the recent past.

Against TFT for same reasons. Just don't see today being his day.

Anibale Fly if you believe the rumour train is thought very highly of by connections even if they were keen to play him down the last day

He looked good last time out but that was in a beating of Martello Tower over two miles. I like Martello but that was so far off his trip.

As for T42 - His price is just too big, especially when you consider the negs, that are just as big, about his opponents.

You've got to handed it to Gordon Elliott. Willie, Nicholls, Henderson et al wouldn't have run her today. She's a gutsy mare to win that.

On the other hand you'd fancy Vroum Vroum Mag to reverse the form in future. I thought Ruby left her too much to do, and she didn't have the benefit of race fitness.

LOL looked a perfect ride by Ruby, were together at the last and both jumped it well. AJ just out toughed vvm.
The few pounds helped but doing that after such a touch race 8 days ago was incredible and justice for just being touched off in the ff.

thought ruby's ride was fine. looked like she came to the last by far the likeliest winner but AJ found plenty. put me in the camp that thought they were a bit mad running her on consecutive weeks.

Ruby had to ride his finish to get to her, and she didn't have enough left. My point is he needed to be much closer when making his run, but wasn't helped by having a wall of horses in front of him at the second last.
