Fairyhouse Weekend

I backed the winner so not money talking but think if they were to race again Ruby would be a bit less cool throughout.

Winner improved with step up in trip and a nice weight allowance.

She was bought as a chaser so dunno how tough they will be on her now

Have to call a spade a spade even when it's Ruby.

Never had a bet today just watching no axe to grind but he made a bit of a balls up there.

Has to take a right pull and go round Barry because he messed up when they quickened and found himself hemmed in. It definitely was not a deliberate move and it cost him 2 lengths plus.

Hard to see Apple Jade upholding that form but a good performance nonetheless

Apple jade , run to similar form to last week, clearly not thinking about cheltenham in march.
about Ruby, too much to do, bad ride.

Today's results have confirmed my initial suspicions about the quality of G1s.

The Hatton's Grace will probably throw out the winner of the Mares race at the Festival, but I will be looking elsewhere for the winner of the top novice events, and the Champion Hurdle. Significantly underwhelmed by races where I usually have plenty of respect for the winners.

Am hoping Coney Island will end up a good horse anyway Grass.

A staying chaser with some toe is something to look forward too and 3m will def be on his agenda.

nice to see one of the smaller trainers get a day in the sun too.

Mick Jazz the one to take out of the race. Settled off the pace he was creeping into it until a mistake two out. After regaining his balance he was hampered by the fallen horse after the last before, yet again having to be readjusted. He then stayed on well without ever getting close to the front two.

He can win off this mark and maybe higher, it's just down to what view the handicapper takes.

his card is sort of marked now. He will be sore tomorrow but interesting to see what the handicapper does with him.

Big handicap in him if he can win his battle with gravity

This was also his first run since a similar fall in similar circumstances in the Fred Winter. I wonder why they kept him out of action for so long.

I'm not sure the Irish handicapper will rate him as having won. I'll need to check through some older form to see what he tends to do. I've no doubt the UK handicapper would rate him a clear-cut winner and raise him accordingly.

Not been able to watch lt have a bet today, how did Alpha Des get on in defeat?

Got him backed quite a bit anti post for the RSA and noticed he's gone out in price.

Bookies ain't what they use to be, they are just mindless drones looking at figures rather than form. I was more impressed today with the horse in defeat than I was when he won the last day. He needs three miles and admittedly a bit of improvement in his jumping.

I would never have backed the horse over 2 and half. Jumping was the main thing I'd have looked for. Just thought there may have been a few errors for him to go from 7's to 12's for the RSA.

Working weekends kills me, never able to spot a horse that looks good in defeat, or able to follow the horses I like the look of.

He didn't make errors as such, just wasn't that quick over a couple of his fences. The drift only makes sense in that he was too short for the RSA prior to the race. I think 12s is fair.

You never miss an opportunity for some Ruby bashing sunybay.

Ruby will have run that race over in his head many many times last night, and probably today.
With such small margins of victory/defeat, jockey's will re-run it to see what they could have done differently.
They'll inevitably blame themselves. The best jockeys at least.

I don't see any issue with Ruby's ride personally. VVM heads Apples Jade after the last and Apples Jade fights back. I defy anyone to believe that VVM wasn't going to pick up a horse who ran a week previous in a race where the form was close to muck.
