Excellent racing and the concluding bumper normally throws up a decent sort with Al Ferof, Outlander, Identity Thief and the hugely unfortunate Lucky Pass all recent winners.

Getabird shot to the head of the Cheltenham betting after his win in it last year

First instinct was back Red Jack when I saw the prices but that Mengli Khan was impressive the last day. I like Rathvinden in the Drinmore.

I hear you wilson but the problem with bumpers is you get so many false favs and some real loud ones like Identity Thief 25/1 .

Like Jenifer Juniper today who couldn't even go the gallop going off fav because of who trains them.

It seems in Ireland if the name Mullins or the giggi colours are involved then they are made fav automatically even if they might be useless.

It makes betting in bumpers a nightmare

Rather have my gooles on Apples Jade then sit back and watch

I suppose its fair to see Apples Jade in here rather taking on Irving again(and the Champ), but she's also alot better over this trip so it won't make it easy on NC's first run. Just like hopefully Rathvinden won't make it easy for Death Duty. Going for a NC/Rathvinden double myself.

Rathvinden has been been brought along slowly, this is where will see exactly what level he is

I'd be disappointed in DD if he isn't good enough to win this

I’d be very interested in Early Doors in the Royal Bond at a price if he was an intended runner. Obviously Joseph has Le Richebourg in it too but Early Doors form has been good and it took a very nice boost yesterday.

Diana Dors died years ago...good news is the Death Duties were paid.

Mullins sounded quite bullish about Rathvinden but I'm with you. DD was a huge disappointment at Chelters but this could be his game

8/1 for Red Jack is crazy. I've had a nice big lump.

He's already beaten Le Richebourg in his bumper, and whilst Mengli Khan was impressive last time I'm not sure he beat anything of note. I noted that he looked as though he needed the race last time too, so I'd expect him to come on a bundle. I'd also imagine in terms of selecting horses it was thought that Flanagan was the best non-retained jockey for JP's three, as I can't fathom why Le Richebourg or Early Doors would be ahead of him.

I have Mengli Khan as the 2nd part of a double with Gold Present from yesterday (major **** up, GP was 4s when I placed this and I couldn't go single at that price - didn't see the drift to 13/2 as I was at work) and I have backed Red Jack as well at his inflated price.

I’m also on Red Jack at 8’s but it makes me nervous when there’s such a discrepancy in prices across the bookies. Hopefully it’s just lazy odds compiling when they saw the jockey bookings.

I've taken a bit of a sideways dash at the Royal Bond, and backed Morgan each-way at 66/1.

His strike-rate hasn't been great so far, but his form against Sayar (received 9lbs) in the Joe Mac stands a bit of scrutiny, and whilst he was comfortably despatched by Mengli Khan in the For Auction, he was again conceding 10lbs to that horse, and was never really put into the race at any stage.

I'm not really expecting him to win, as he still has to concede weight to the most of the market principals, and there's little doubt that it's a very hot race......but he might just worry the places, if he's given a more positive ride than he's been getting recently.

This is long-hand for "I haven't the first clue which horse will win".

The look round for Mengli Khan after 3-out suggests he was only there to act as a hare for the jolly. Ah well.
