Following on from the chatter in the other thread AC has suggested a forum meet up at the Festival.

My suggestion is a meet up in the Mandarin. Everywhere will be busy, but at the very least we can grab a drink and there's space just outside the door facing the parade ring. Any of the bars will be too busy to make it work, and outside the course before racing will be too challenging during the Festival.

So unless anyone has a compelling reason to do something else, let's meet outside the door of the Mandarin on Wednesday and Thursday after the first race, and we can use this thread to say whether any of us can make it, and then figure out how those that haven't met any of the forumites before can find us without making an arse of themselves by using stupid made up forum names when they approach a non suspecting member of Joe Public!

That's simple Eddie. I'll just leave a G&T on the wall outside and he won't be able to resist!

You'll need more than one G&T. Just lay out a load of them from the bar to the meet up point. He'll follow them out like the kids did the sweeties in Hansel and Gretel.

I'll be there. Just look out for a somebody who looks like Colin Farrell with a hint of Robert Downey Jnr blended in. That'll be Ed and I'll be beside him.

Ill be there guys from Tuesday except for Friday when I`ll be in the O & T ( always hopeful ). This year they have the o & t in the tented village. Look forward to seeing you all. Wont have Minella Daddy as we have to put him out till the Autumn.

We are in hospitality on the Wednesday...so we'll catch up with you all on Thursday.

Can you effin believe it, had an appointment through for a coronary procedure on the Monday, daren't risk putting it off as I've waited long enough for this one. I don't think I will be able to attend at all, certainly can't drive for seven days after I am sent home.

Will catch up on the TTF and Cheltenham Challenge as soon as I am able.

Good luck with the procedure DG. Awful timing though

Ouch, terrible timing.

A lot of my ante post eggs are in the Might Bite basket so I'm not sure I'd be up to watching the race having been through coronary procedure 48 hours earlier.

Bets of luck with the op DG.

Take care, Roger

Given you've had no luck with the timing I hope the execution goes a lot better.

If you know what I mean

I needed the same procedure when Annie fell at the last a couple of years back.

I will be the designated survivor on the forum meet up day. If you lads all get blown up we'll need someone to carry the b@stards on here.

All the best DG

Yep, echo all the timing comments DG and hope all goes well

I will not make the Mandarin as slum it in Tatts all week, though the Tatts seats are brilliant

Eddie - will you be at the course every morning? I may try and make it Tues or Wed if I can persuade one our posse to get up and give me a lift!

Time for a roll call. Which of you guys can make a meet up after the first race on Wednesday or Thursday?
