Festival non runners thread

I see other outlets including RP confirm Waiting Patiently out . I suspect for the season if Aintree ground is good as so often it is.
 
That’s a shame about WP.

Why on earth would they send Douvan to the Ryanair? If one of them goes it’s Min. It’s still odds on Douvan gets pulled and everyone stays where they are.

If they think Douvan can genuinely win the Champion Chase why would Min run in it? Surely he'd go to the Ryanair. He's won over the trip.

If they don't think Douvan can win the Champion Chase why run him at all.

If I owned him I can't imagine I'd be thinking anything else.

he could be working fine at home and seem fit and ready to take his chance but they won't know how well he's going to run in it till it happens so better to have 2 cracks at it than just rely on Douvan being back to his best.

As someone who has a high priced double on Douvan winning the QM and Min winning the Ryanair I'd be delighted if they chose this option but in reality Min looks far better suited to a fast paced 2m than anything else and should be in this.

More likely they've realised how hard a race he ended up having at Ascot - although it may not have looked it - and he hasn't got over it yet.

Makes me wonder about Cue Card too.
 
I’d say Grassy’s assessment is more accurate.

I’ll have the argument of looking after a horse of his talent but Cheltenham is the pinnacle of this sport, he’s at the peak of his powers and ground conditions are very unlikely to be as soft again at the festival within the window of opportunity he’ll have to win there.

At least they're been totally honest about the possibility of WP not running at the Festival.

Yeah was one or two shandys in, also meant to say if Samcro runs.
Got a cushty 12 hour shift now, hoping to come home and see he hasn't been declared for Tuesday.

Gutted about OTBS, had some nice prices each way.
