Five best Led Zeppelin Tracks

Yeah, you are right. Looked it up and it's something like £395.00! Doesn't sound like it is memoirs either, a kind of photo album. Will be beautiful I am sure, James has impeccable taste, but way out of most of his fans price brackets. Including mine!

I had a fantastic life, just wish I'd been a little bit older so that I might have made more of it. I thought everybody lived like that, did not occur to me at the time that I was doing anything incredible. Sigh.

I loved Marriot too, Small Faces were one of the first bands I followed. And The Who. Marriot had such a big voice and was so tiny himself. By the time I got to see him he was in Humble Pie. Such a shame he died the way he did too. So many booze related deaths.

I was in England being a nanny when The Who did The Kids Are Alright at Shepperton and I got to go to rehearsals. Apart from being soul destroying watching Moon disintegrate before my eyes, it was fabulous to see them. They were messing about one night and launched into a version of Tin Soldier. Sadly no one was recording this ..... just have memories.

I always had a soft spot for British bands, only liked a few US ones. My older sister ran away from home in the 70's to the deep south and became a Southern Belle. She shacked up with red neck rock n roll royalty and she was a firm defender of The Allman Brothers, Lynard Skinnard and the like. I saw them many times and could get into it, and Johnny and Edgar Winter - but always preferred sounds from across the sea.

Another one I loved was Rory Gallagher, such a shame about his death.

Back on Zep - have you heard Robert's son? I keep meaning to go and see him, looks a lot like him, very spooky to watch.

I haven't heard Roberts son..must youtube him

you have some great memories there - i'm very jealous

Moonie was very overy overweight at Shepperton..i've got the DVD with those 3 performances on..pretty good stuff

Don't know whether you have seen the Steve Marriott "Packet Of Three DVD..made in the 80's...here are some clips..Jerry Shirley from Humble Pie is on drums

Jagger wouldn't have Steve in the band after he auditioned for the Stones after Mick Taylor went..i wonder why:)

he was probably the best singer/guitarist we have ever seen here..definately the best singer for sure.

God, I'd forgotten some of these, thanks! I must get out more and go to gigs again.

His voice is so rich, it just fills the room. I used to have a load of old vinyl of his, kept moving about and lost it all. But now there is You Tube which is great.

Have you heard Deborah Bonham? She had Jerry for awhile as her drummer. And they used to do Black Coffee.

Debbie and Jason doing Rock n Roll, recorded on some guys mobile so crap sound, but you get the drums clearly. Gives me goosebumps, sounds just like Bonzo. Bonzo would have been so proud of Jason.

This is Debbie at her best and for once the sound system worked too.

I've got her album The Old Hyde and there was a special disc of a radio show she and Jason did, it's really pretty wonderful for old Zep fans. Robert keeps saying he wants to turn up at one of her gigs with Jason - and I am probably booked to miss it as always have trouble getting to see her.

And there is even a racehorse related link to her too, she has always been horse mad and took one from the Moorcroft Welfare Centre in Sussex. She then rescued one I followed and we had a little club for him to keep him going in retirement, he had his own banking account. He had been trained by Henderson, Hidebound, a very good hurdler before injury. Sadly Debs had to have him put down a few years ago, cried buckets. She is now a Trustee of The Racehorse sanctuary, the offshoot of Morrcroft. She got Page to autograph a guitar and some cds to auction off for the charity and when they reunited for the o2 show the Sultan Of Brunei wanted to attend and could not get tickets, Robert promised him two if he bought a horse lorry for the charity, which he did.

You can listen to bits of it on her myspace page here

I see she has some dates listed, must go and see her.

Oh, one more, one more! I saw this once, someone played it for me at their house from an old tape. NEVER thought I'd see it again.

Just brilliant, must figure out how to save things from You Tube.

Tin Soldier, Small faces with PP Arnold from 1968.

Sigh.

I'm never going to get out more with all of this stuff on You Tube!
