Ah, then I'm not. I don't join groups. I said that occupy the middle ground because I've never been sure about the method of killing foxes and particularly some of the ritual that surrounds it but I was against all the parliamentary time that was wasted on the bill when there are far more important issues to be resolved.

Oh, and there's higgernorant old me thinking that Hunts always WERE licenced and properly regulated - something to do with carrying firearms/trespass rights comes to mind...

I always thought that only happened in Catholic families, seconds before the VS.

allegedly.

:D

I may have been a bit premature in shooting my load (so to speak)

But let it be known, we WILL **** you up!!!

You do NOT rule the countryside.

NO, Dom, NO! Do not respond, do not... look at my face, look at my face, no, don't look around my face... you will not respond again, no, look at me... look...at me....at meeee... and relaxxxxx...

same way you moved it here unless I forgot to give permissions to you all to move back?

Any other views on this shall i move it back or leave it here forever.....

happy now its back everyone? :)

please stop making threads about where topics have gone please - if its moved its been moved for a reason

To the mods, I deleted most the posts that were made while it was in the mod forum, didn't think you would want that 25-1 shot for tomorrow spreading around yet.

Fair enough, but the thread just disappeared without trace - maybe when a Moderator hoists one off into the ether for consideration of its merits or otherwise, they could just tell us? It only takes a quick line, something like 'removed to Moderators Section' and we all know what's happened to it.

I would hope that now it will be clear that if a moved thread has not reappeared in another accessible topic like Chit Chat to Racing or racing to Other Sports - where it will be .

However , it is a good idea to say why it has been moved there.

Anyhow, did anyone see the programme? I thought it was done very well. I admit that plenty of the people featured in it won't have endeared themselves to many purely due to which class they belong to, but then again that sums up the farce that is the ban perfectly. It has all been entirely a political and perceived class issue, nothing more & nothing less.

Why can't a thread be temoprarily locked ? that way it can be unlocked whenever and everyone knows what is happening.

I watched it too. I thought the points it made were very clear and good ones, how unworkable the ban actually is being the main one. Just what are they to do if a fox happens to cross the path of the hounds? :brows:

I saw it too. I nearly fell off my chair when I realised I actually know someone who was in the programme. The yard where I kept Gizzmo when he was recovering from his tendon injury is a big hunting yard, but I didn't realise that they were members of the hunt the programme was about. I am due to visit them all for a Sunday lunch soon. We meet up periodically because they are all lovely people and made a great job of looking after Gizzmo. When they talk about hunting being a "way of life" for so many people, it is so utterly true.

The yard is where I first clapped eyes on Barney as a 12 week old puppy!

Ardross, as you'll no doubt recall, we had a spate of missing topics and even individual postings a while back, when Col fine-tuned the site. So, no, we won't automatically assume a Moderator's moved something to discuss in the Senior Prep Room. If Moderators just SAY it's been moved, we all know, and won't start wondering what's going on. Otherwise, it all starts to feel a bit KGBish.

I didn't see anything new in the programme, although I was slightly disappointed that when the lobbyists visited Brighton, there weren't any pictures of the dead horse that was chucked into one of our main roads. The horse had a pro-hunt placard rammed into its body.

The CA vehemently denied that any of its supporters would do something so crass, and suggested that it had actually been done by anti-hunt supporters, in an effort to put hunts in a very bad light. I couldn't be bothered to follow up on the issue, so I don't know if anything eventually came to light as to which scenario was correct.

Be fair HT. They should be hunted, taste of own medicine... that kind of thing.

A couple of week back, they infested my village and clogged up our pub car park.

Hunting them would be a humane way of keeping their populations under control.

(Mustn't forget 'tongue in cheek' disclaimer!)

Check it out, he looks just like a sab :P
