General news on the run in to the Festival

This boy is a legend.

Closest I came to that was taking a Racing Post with me to read, wben my oldest lad was born.

I remember when Ruth was having one of my 6 and I had the old Sporting Life with me. You remember the one that was as big as a bed spread. I was busy with it on the bed while holding Ruths hand when the midwife came in . You are a racing man she said, brilliant . And proceeded to open the paper all over the bedand we fell into a serious racing discussion. We had a lovely baby and a couple of winners and the midwife was still calling me for racing info sixmonths later. Ruth has never forgiven me:o

Owner Barry Connell says there is still no definite decision whether or not Mossey Joe runs in the Foxhunter Chase

Not Cheltenham related but in the same theme, my sister who had been married for several years and been through every fertility treatment available in this country but without success. We won a 60k premier handicap up the Curragh with a 72 rated horse and sent her to an Austrian specialist for a month. She now has two beautiful daughters. Some good comes out of our depravity sometimes.

Like it sir. You could have just sent her to my hoose before i was gelded tho!

Cheltenham has moved to boost mobile phone signal and roaming capability at this year's festival. Ian Renton, chief executive at track, said that more masts have been put up around the course with better technology built in.
“We’ve got an extensive number of telephone masts and the actual technology within those masts to increase the mobile signal," Ian Renton said. "They’re a much higher-capacity mobile mast than the previous ones."

Nice one, OTB.

Quote from Andrew Tinkler this morning

Grandouet

"After the way he schooled this morning if he ran in a jumpers bumper he would fall"

OTB that's lovely :)

I had some sympathy for the bloke in that mumsnet thread up till she said he'd taken the baby money without asking - I wouldn't have an issue with my bloke taking money from savings for his yearly thing (and is expect the same back!!) but id have a massive issue with him doing it without at least mentioning that he was going to....

I love mumsnet - it's a constant source of amusement, did anyone on here see the dick cup one??!!

Ahhhhh, I stopped on page 3, must have missed the wind up response. I know the horse and hound girls go on there for entertainment sometimes, was prob one of them!!

They are totally bonkers-how they manage at all is beyond me

She still has the misfortune of being your sister. Some burdens are for life.

Does Hamm know??

Just landed back in London to be greeted by this. Obviously you have got hold of Andrew Tinkler and managed to convince him to be in on your wind-up - well done!

I assume though I can change my competition selections?

Galloping after racing at Leopardstown for one circuit including jumping the fences but not the hurdles. No sign of Annie Power I don't think, but Champagne Fever and RW did a very tidy round of jumping despite nearly putting down at the first, with the horse backing off and Ruby pushing him into the bridle at each fence.

Ruby on Ballycasey in the next gallop and Ballycasey is down !! with Ruby seemingly getting a bad kick , thankfully on his feet soon enough

Remounted and jumped another fence to finish on a positive note, more schooling at home this week probably.

Lovely story.

Noel Meade has withdrawn Monksland from the World Hurdle as several members of his string are under the weather.
