General news on the run in to the Festival

Made it too easy - the whole country knew it was a plot.

In other general news in the run up to the Festival, Russia and Ukraine remain on the verge of war.

No word of Mozoltov, maybe he's for Aintree or more likely Fairyhouse, or Sure Reef and Indevan both of whom I thought were likely runners in either the Coral or the Pipe.

Money for Mozoltov the last few days in the JLT market, CL.

Natch, I'm inclined towards optimism, and reckon this one is the Mullins stealth-bomber of the Festival.

I could, however, be talking shite.

To mark the 50th anniversary of the legendary Gold Cup clash between Arkle and Mill House in 1964, Ch4 will broadcast a one-hour special called 'ARKLE – THE LEGEND LIVES ON' at 11pm next Thursday, the night before the Cheltenham Gold Cup.

Among those in the Retraining of Racehorses Opening Day Parade on Tuesday are Crystal D’Ainay , Blazing Bailey, Kauto Star, Denman, as well as The Queen’s Barber's Shop.

24 hours ago Briar Hill was 36.0 on Betfair for The Neptune. Right now he is 12.0 !

Is there something going on, could Mullins possibly do a switcheroo ?

Talk to me Slim ....

I know most on here don't like him. And he doesn't seem to be at the very top of WPM's novice chasers' rankings. But my eyes tell me Djakadam is a top horse.

I'll back him.

I'm finding his last win hard to weigh up Bar....

He beat Bright New Dawn by 4 Lengths, who in turn went on to win next time out in a grade 2. But Djakadam was getting shed loads of weight from BND when beating him..... It's tough to really weigh up imo.

But I have to agree with you, to the naked eye he looked a slick jumper..

No suggestions that AP will miss Cheltenham but his young son has undergone heart surgery in the Portland Hospital, London. AP rides at Sandown this afternoon and then takes two days off to be at the hospital with his wife and children.
