Glorious Goodwood

Odds Against for Dawn Approach has disappeared, 5/6 SP I reckon
Declaration Of War must be the biggest danger
Nailing my colours firmly to the DA mast, Favourite flat horse in training.

There's no way of knowing if Beyond Conceit will stay the 2m 5f of the Goodwood Stakes, but he's stout enough bred and was considered enough of a stayer to tackle the Leger c/d in the June of his 3yo career. His latest outing is as strong h/c form as any in the race and, at double figure odds, is well worth chancing.

The Irish Derby form is nothing to write home about, but the Gordon Stakes looks particularly weak, and Cap O'Rushes 4th place should still be sufficient to take this
.
Doubt I'll be involved in the Sussex, though I do think Leiter Mor will set a strong enough pace for DA to outstay Toronado once again.

DoW tempts me in the sussex. the queen anne form seems quite solid and he ran a good race in the eclipse. he's probably 3rd fave but 11/2 seems too big.

I really fancy Parbold today, I think he was much the 2nd best horse at Ascot and deserved to be clear of those behind, albeit at a distance from the winner. I think conditions will suit and has proved more than most of the others in his runs to date. Excess Knowledge, Parbold & Dawn Approach for a short priced treble.

I had a chastening day yesterday and - in a vain attempt to shift the blame - I think the change in going had a lot to do with it. It's small stakes for the rest of the week but I can't help thinking Excess Knowledge will be very well suited by the step up in trip today and, as a son of Monsun, he should go well on the ground.

I agree about Parbold. Dying to take on the Hannon horse, and I think he is a very solid proposition.

I don't get the big deal with Excesss Knowledge. That said, the race is so poor, he nearly looks like value. No bet race for me. They may all be as bad as each other.

Seaside Sizzler looks like a great bet in the staying race. He stays, acts on the course, is consistent and is the apple of Ralph Beckett's eye.

At these big meetings it pays to have a look at the prices early in the evening before even if you haven't fully scoped things out. Brown Sugar 8/1 was available at 14/1 and Garswood 9/4 at 6's(rule 4 applies). Last evening grabbed 14/1 on My Kingdom and 11/2 Great Times for today.

My Kingdom 5.25 ticks most of the boxes for me today.

Benzanno has been looking like it has a big race in him for some time, perhaps the last at Goodwood today will be that race, quality rider.

Pavlosk (4.50) was considered classy enough to supplement for the Coronation, but palpably didn't see out the stiff mile. The drop to a sharp 7 should suit admirably, and connections still retain enough faith to enter her against the colts in the Hungerford. Ladbrokes 9/2 won't last.
Montiridge (2,30) seemingly only has to go down and come back, but his price is now shot to bits.
Smoothtalkingrascal would have been a good bet in the sprint, but the draw gods have conspired against him again.

I quite like Nargys back at 7f this afternoon. Looked to me like she didn't get a mile when a close 4th of 26 off 103 at Royal Ascot two runs ago and that form looks very decent in the context of this.

Whilst I have other selections in the race I couldn't resist grabbing a £10ew at 90's on Regal Parade in the Stewards. With the rider's allowance his mark is now back to 2008 levels yet this old stager is still reasonably capable- winning decent prize money at the tail end of last season and the beginning of this. Runs fairly well at Goodwood and just maybe!

I'm liking Shropshire for the lottery...Good ground is perfect..Moore booked...looks to peaking at the right time and has weight pull with York Glory who is one of the best sprint handicappers around. 14/1 ish looks nice

How long should Mulrennan get for that ride?

I think that ride makes the biggest mockery yet of the guidelines the stewards have to follow. Imvho, it doesn't matter a jot that Moviesta was the best horse in the race. He took out so many others he should have been disqualified.

Spot on DO, the current rules positively encourage such riding. . . . .but can't agree he was the best horse in the race as he eliminated the chance of at least two others, arguably one of which in particular may indeed have been.

I thought Picture Dealer was impressive last time and will finish the race well, looks a strong chance in the first today.
